IMHO, one of the true Wonders of the World, and anyone who visits, let alone lives in, Andalucia and does not visit should be ashamed of themselves! Great pics, Janice, but better to go take your own!

Ticket and general info: https://w3.grupobbva.com/SMVE/home.html or go into any branch of BBVA bank.

Nice one Janice,

A truly spectacular place to visit. Called in just before Christmas 22o can you believe it? At just 10 euros for adults its just about the best deal I've found to date in Spain! It's that popular though try to buy tickets in advance to avoid disappointment as it can get very busy during holiday periods?

We went all the way to Granada not knowing that you need to book tickets for La Alhambra in advance.  Consequently we didn't get in .  We weren't best pleased to say the least.

What beautiful photographs makes us want to get out to Spain and start enjoying all that wonderful country.Handy to know about booking in advance as wouldnt be too happy to get there and not be allowed in.

Where else should we defiately head for particularly in the Costa Blanca region any ideas ?

Cant say about C Blanca but in Andalucia Sevilla is a beautiful city - some really lovely architecture and buildings - plenty of shopping for the fair sex as well. Cadiz has a lot of history - not sure I would call it a beautiful city as there is a lot of industry there but very interesting nonetheless especially in the old part of the city.

You want beautiful?  Grazalema near Ronda, voted one of the most beautiful villages in Spain (Maria de Castro is from there).  Absolutely stunning place.

Heading further inland from Sevilla, the mines at Rio Tinto are very interesting. The Brits were devastating the landscape around there long before the property booms on the coast, and Punta Umbria was probably the very first Brits abroad resort in Spain, just for the British workers from Rio Tinto. Coming back towards the CDS, the beach at Trafalgar is fantastic, and empty. Apart from the lighthouse, there's nothing there - not even a memorial to all who lost their lives just a short way off the coast. Shame really. Such an historic event, and nothing to record it. I guess the Spanish were bad losers?
