Hi Derek - I've been trailing around garden centres in the Orihuela Costa area for the last few months and they are very different to what you get in the UK.  More is right about the Polaris World one - it's very large but they are not very good at looking after plants, I'm afraid.  They are more into lovely and very pricey furniture etc.  For plants you will need to shop around.  There is a good one in Villamartin, which also does furniture and a little one at Campoamor (next to Bricotodo) called La Isla which has some very cheap plants.

Markets can be a good bet if you are wanting fairly standard flowers, fruit and veg plants.  If you want to chat about specific places then send me a PM.

Happy hunting!
