Hiya everyone

Well - what can I say about us - we are in our late 40's, our car is nearly packed and we leave for Spain via the tunnel on Friday afternoon.

We have  taken a 2 bed apartment for 6 months down in Quesada and that will be our base whilst we try and find our feet and research areas for maybe long term living.  This is us doing a try before you buy.

We might hate it and come back to the UK with our tail between our legs but best to do it this way rather than buy and then find out.

Thats all for now but I am sure we will have loads of questions to ask as out time in Spain infolds.

I hope it all goes well and do keep up posted as to how you get on.

As Tamara says, you are doing the right thing in renting.  It's difficult to know exactly where you want to actually settle down until you've lived in an area for a while, and rents are pretty low in most places at the moment.

Have a good drive down.
