changes over the years

 not having the time to go through the many many replies i am sure there are on this subject, i thought i would start a new and up-to-date thread to get people's opinions on how things have changed over the last few years.

specific experiences on living in Spain now in comparison to maybe 5 years ago coz i know there are plenty here in the UK?

It's more expensive.

There are much fewer jobs.

There is a lot less money around.

Crime is up.

We seem to have a lot more rain.

Rentals are cheap if you are a tenant if you are an owner!

IBI has doubled.

There are less sharks around (not the wet variety)

100% mortgages

Biggest single difference from the british point of view has to be the fact that five years ago your pound would have bought you 1.50 euros now 1.15, this has changed many expat lives here

 

I'm still trying to come to terms with the cost of gas and electric.
