General question concerning land ownership

Can anyone help with a little information from Spain please?

Is there a department, like in England we have the Land Registry, that can help me find the ownership of some land at Albatera

I am referring to the land that San Jose Inversionnes have sold property deposits on, and not issued any bank guarantees.  I want to clear up the ownership of this parcel of land and would be gratefull to have any information about how I may find this out, or who to approach.

I understand the builder was planning to leave the land out of the administration process and wonder how they could do this, especially when I have given them a deposit against property on the same site.

Not sure if this is right or helps. You may find that the builder has taken deposits but mortgaged the land to the bank. So the bank owns the land So ownership is not given until the land is released from the builders mortgage at the bank on completion.

If not all you own is Bricks and Morter and a key to the front door

The problem is that if the builder fails to complete on the property and goes bust the Bank will claim it all.

You need the bank guarantee

Yes, you can have ownership information through the Land Registry.

If they were property developers, most probably you will find first the mortgage of the Bank financing the complex.
