Does anyone  if there is a coach ot train from either Murcia, cartegena or somewhere within 30 miles that goes to Granada. Car hire from either Murcia or Alicante pick up and drop off at Granada is soooooooo expensive.

Let me know. Thanks

See attached link showing Buses from Granada to Murcia (6) that must return to Granada.

http://www.andalucia.com/travel/bus/granada.htm

Trains go from Granada to Almeria, approx 4 per day in each direction at approx 16 Euros return trip.

PM sent to nicola

This posted for general Information...

If you are thinking about using Granada Airport,  remember that after mid-June there are no flights to anywhere in the UK from Granada. M.O'L is pulling the plug on Ryanair flights from Granada and no other operator offers flights to the UK.

Malaga then becomes the closest alternative after mid-June but there are no through trains from Granada to Malaga. The bus / coach for this leg is the only viable option for those not wishing to go by car.

Murcia to Malaga bus / coach is also an option wth 5 or 6 coaches daily in each direction.Journey time about 6 hours.

Murcia-Malaga by train is possible, using the Albacete connections quoted above and using Malaga as the destination instead of Granada. There is only one train per day making the trip so unless your flight is late in the evening or early morning, allowing for the normal 2hr chck-in, an overnight stay in Malaga becomes necessary. Train arrives Malaga at 21.16.

The train from Albacete originates in Barcelona and is the 'Garcia Lorca,' one of Spains premier non-AVE trains

It is multi-destinational (Badajoz, Sevilla, Malaga, Granada / Almeria), so it is essential to make sure that you / your clients are in the right coach...advance booking & seat reservations should ensure that no mistakes occur!

The Granada portion operates only on alternate days of the week. On the days it doesn't go to Granada, it goes to Almeria instead.

Probably best to use the bus / coach option, its quicker and cheaper!

Hope this helps
