Barclays Bank Espana accounts

 An interesting fact came to light after a visit to my branck of Barclays Espana, especially for those owners that use them and have an Opportunity Account which offers no charges  gives you a 3% cashback on all direct debits set up for utilities and Homeowners fees.

As we on Roda are asked to pay the Entidad and Community fees separately, 2 dds leave your bank account which utterly confuses the banking system which only caters for one payment per service, denying you cashback on one of the payments, in actual fact it stops both if you do not query it, so be aware.

Anyone else come across this or indeed know if it is legal or correct to separate fes payable for the same resort, I know in the past it has been suggested that the fees should have been separated by the Administrator but thispractice was changed last year, I believe. 

I believe phase 4, who have different community administrators to all other phases, are in the process of challenging this separation through legal processes. 

I think they are claiming that the law requires one payment with entidad fees then separated and handed over by administrators rather than owners having to make two separate payments.

Thanks for your input difi, I had thought there had been queries in the past re fee payments but as with most things in Spain, much of the regulations are down down to interpretation or else a very lengthy and potentially costly legal process.

i did receive a quick reponse from my bank saying the the systems set up to deal with dds was not really able to note 2 different payments for fees as indeed it would not if you paid 2 separate electric bills and only suggested the fees could be collected in one payment each time but did not comment on legality.
