Dear All

I have never put a thread on the site, but have read with interest over the last few years the ups and downs of Corvera. There are some great characters on this site and the feedback has been invaluable.

We purchased on phase 3 back in March 2007 and like so many other people, have been on a emotional rollercoaster ever since. This was our dream, but like so many, it became our nightmare.  Last summer we decided to return to Corvera and get the update on our future 2 bed apartment. We were not provided with any explanation on its availablity and were offered a discounted property on an earlier phase. I asked whether we would be entitled to our deposit back as I believed there maybe a breach in contract ie...no timescale for the build !! I was informed that this was not possible. No matter what I tried to do or say with regards to this matter, the response was that it was not possible.

We decided that the move to purchase on an earlier phase was not a good idea. We did visit some properties, but actually became disillusioned by what we saw. We were very disappointed with the overall site and the facilities were not 5 star. Infact, there wasn't any!!

We could not see how in this present world recession how Corvera would ever reach the heights that originally captured our hearts. It was also rather eerie and unnerving seeing so many properties empty and many not completing. We had little confidence in the developer and felt very vulnerable.

On returning to the UK, I spent more time reviewing EOS and in particular Maria's blog.

Eventually, I emailed her explaining our situation and asked whether we had a case for receiving a refund. Maria was brilliant. She was very quick to respond and filled us with the confidence to proceed with her. We started proceedings back in December 2010 and in July this year received the full refund back into our bank.

I am still numb about the whole situation, but I would personally like to thank Maria and her team for their professionalism. Although the case did not go to court, I can say that Maria's services certainly put the pressure on Corvera to return our moneys. Remember, I went across there to do the same and got nowhere.

I strongly recommend Maria and her team, should you wish to pursue your deposits back. The advice was first class and all the correspondence was in a format that made it easy to understand.

Finally, for all those people who purchased, I wish you every success and I hope that it delivers the promise that you bought into (you deserve it) and for those who are fighting for their money back again, good luck and don't ever give up!!

All the very best, Mark & Jill

Congratulations Mark and Jill

It must be a great relief to finally have a settlement and know that you can either regroup and start looking again or forget Spain altogether. As said before ALL those in phases 3 and 4 are in a great position to either get their money back through the courts and their bank guarantees or to do a deal with Calidona and get a good deal to swap to either phase 1 or 2 properties or even in some cases swap to Roda.

Jane and I turned down several larger apartments or villas before we took the plunge and settled on our Tilo. Yes, it was a bit of a gamble but after a year of ownership we are really enjoying it and the tranquility of Corvera itself. It seems that the Clubhouse build will be restarted shortly with the aim of opening the course to the public. I hope that when all facilities are completed and we have to start paying to play golf we won't be too disappointed.

Once again congrats and good luck in finding a property that excites you as much as your dream at Corvera did. If you decide to give up that dream then enjoy the UK with some refunded money in your pocket and have a long and happy life.

Hi Steve and Jane

Where did you get the information from that the club house building work would start again shortly? They've been promising it for the last 6 years. Now they claim to have no money so where's the money going to come from? Is it another empty promise? Can you trust what they say when they tell someone they can't get their money back on a phase three property (and that's only the latest untruth).

Congratulations to mark and Jill for getting what they wanted.......

Forget Spain, every country in EEC has a problem with economy and  if you are able to keep things going until everything is stable then well and good. Otherwise, it's a war with casualities.

I believe that loan restructuring has been approved and there might be some movement on club house. Course is being maintained and range area is also kept tidy........Lot more people about this year...........

Wait and see........

Hi everyone, not a regular contributor on this forum but I've decided to make a post as there is a whiff of promise in the air I believe. I received an email from Housing informing me that loans have been granted to Calidona. The subject line in the email was 'GOOD NEWS'. Also it's been reported that a contractor has already been on site last week assessing the clubhouse site. Finally I think we are going to see some progress.

Another happy couple thanks to Maria.

We have had our deposit returned. Four years ago we had a dream, which turned into a nightmare, we believed  that we had lost our deposit, but again persistant paid out. Unlike some we  do not have time to wait till calidona  decides to complete the resort.

We wish well to those who have completed, but are so please to put this episode behind us and get on with our lives  without CorverA!

Congratulations to you for getting what you wanted and good luck.

Personally, I love the place and hoping that Airport and Theme Park will create a "buzz".
