To all owners who are renting their properties at Playa Macenas:
Dear all,
I guess you have all received the letter from Med Macenas management informing of their price increase for the rental management services, which in my opinion are totally abusive.
It is legitimate for Med Macenas to adopt policies to guarantee the viability of their project. However, limiting this to passing on the burden to the owners without offering any added value to their services is outrageous:
- 20% commission for rental management. The price they charge for a 1 week rental during high season is 1.070€ (pure robbery -nobody will pay this much). 700€ in october is simply ludicrous.
A 20% commission over 1.070€ is 214€. Laundry and cleaning is almost a further 150€. Plus VAT!! For 1 week they are charging the guts of 400€. This is ROBBERY!!
All I can write about is our own experience. While with our property we now have 20 weeks booked for 2011 -all over the Internet, Med Macenas has only offered us ONE LEAD since last summer that didn't even confirm.
Alternatively, we have the option to hire the services of an external company. BUT, have you notices how much they are charging for access to the Beach Club's installations? For 1 family they are requesting a further 166€. For the customer care they ask for a further 165€!! On top of that, the Beach Club membership is a further 1.000€/year and proves now to be money down the drain...
by way of this letter I wish to ask other proprietors if they wish to join me in presenting a formal complaint and investigate into what lines of action can be implemented to avoid these abusive conditions. I live in Spain, which makes it a lot easier for me to follow it up than for those of you who are suffering these terms from abroad.
