Hi All, Water off a ducks back. I'm really not sure why people with no intention of ever completing their purchase hang around this forum like a bad smell. On a serious note i would urge all people yet to complete if they have not yet made up their mind, come out to Corvera and speak to owners on site, it really will open your eyes, just about everyone on site i have ever talked to are really happy with their purchase and are in this for the long haul. If you are looking to rent out your villa or apartment when the tourism market improves then the fact that we don't have the hotel will actually be beneficial for you ! The new airport at Corvera is due to open in late 2011, even if you take the passenger numbers predicted with a pinch of salt like you should have done about the five star hotel at Corvera then that should be excellent news for Corvera Golf in terms of rental guests, buyers and day visit golfers. This forum over the last couple of years has been completely dominated by the same handful of moaners (certainly less than 10) who do not ever have any intention to complete and are trying to urge others to not complete too, that's why i say come out to visit, speak to people on the ground, i'm sure they would be only too happy to show you round a real apartment or villa as opposed to a show apartment and then you can form your own opinion. Reliable people on this forum say that around 400 buyers have completed on Corvera Golf so far, so that's probably 40 positive outlook completers for every 1 moaning whinger on this forum !  If you google Corvera Golf you will also find a lot of other positive stuff too and some really good very recent pictures of the resort.

Guys & Girls,

can I please ask that certain comments like 'bad smell' etc. are not used on the forum as it only winds the accused up and the forum disintegrates into a slanging match. Even if we  think these things, it will give far better debate if we do not publish them. As I have said before and keep saying, look over past posts and different threads to try and establish where the poster is 'coming from'. There are some genuine people posting on this forum who are not completing for what they believe to be the right reasons, those that cannot complete because of personal circumstance change and yes there are those that will not complete because figures no longer add up to their original investment predictions, but each has the right to post and that is what makes a forum work.

The only people that p*** me off are those that have NO VESTED INTEREST in Corvera, have not paid a deposit or own a property and post purely to wind others up. You know who you are and a forum such as this is not the place to cure a twisted mind! Go get help!

Merry Christmas to all, especially those spending it at Corvera, wish I could join you but am not out again until Feb.

Ever the optimist..........

Hi all,

I used to post here but gave up due to the slanging matches that have developed. I don't think they are that helpful and have certainly offended people on both sides of the 'to complete or not to complete, that is the question' debate. The last thing we need is to snipe at each other, where will that get any of us?

I agree pretty much 100% with Steve's last post, lets 'keep it country' and make it a useful forum where we can constructively exchange views and help each other get the best out of Corvera, whatever our position and circumstances - whether completers or non-completers. I have full sympathy for those who cannot complete due to changed circumstances, it must be really difficult.

I am an optimist too. We have had 3 great breaks out to our Corvera apartment this year, we love it there. It'd be great to be going out at Christmas too, but lack of remaining holidays and spare cash make it impossible. Here's to next year!

Regards and best of luck to all,

Ian

Looking forward to spend xmas and new year at Corvera.

Just got to ride out of  these damp economic hurdles.

Hi All, from what i have been told almost half of all recent completions at Corvera are from Spanish buyers, that should tell us something, if the Spanish are now completing the purchase of their villas and apartments it must mean that they can see that Corvera will start to become a boom area when the new airport opens. The new airport has had a lot of publicity but i think the new high speed rail link due to open in 2014 may be even more important to long term property values at Corvera. The Corvera Airport Station high speed railway will link us directly with Madrid and if Madrid Residents decide to buy a holiday home at Corvera that really will push us to the fore in Spanish circles. Hopefully 2011 will see the re-start of building works on the clubhouse and by the end of the summer we should be past 500 sale completions. Here's to a positive 2011, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all owners and future owners at Corvera.

Fantastic... just returned from a lovely relaxing holiday ( Bali not Corvera funnily enough) and am rather disappointed to see some nasty, spiteful ,self-serving comments from some pretty mean spirited people... so to Iain  and Simon ( what a joker) i hope you get everything you deserve this festive season. I would love to send you a very special Yuletide log but i dont think it will travel too well from here, so i will just hope that one of the corvera mutts does it for me.

To the rest of you guys both owners and non-completors i wish you all a very merry xmas and New Year.

Spanhod

Tell me its ok for you to rally up support to defend your investment but for for me to defend mine?

Thats totally obsurd. Just because you tell people not to complete does not necesarily make it the right thing to do. I was trying to warn people that potentially you could lose your deposit if you do not complete. My Llawyer made it clear to me several times that taking legal action against Corvera could very easily end with more wasted money.

Its a fact that people not completing is hitting my personal investment because Corvera will not have the capital to continue building and as a result i wont get any facilities that i desperately want to see at Corvera to make my investment worthwhile. Until there is more investment in the project nothing will happen.

I'm incredibly sorry for the people that cannot aford to complete due to whatever reason's but its a fact that when you invest in off plan property you are taking a risk and all of you that paid deposits back in the good time knew and accepted the risk. Frankly if you wanted instant gratification you could easily have bought on a developed site such as polaris world or one of the many other developments in the area. But the fact is all people thought they would get more for their money by investing in what was at the time just dirt.

Once again i reitterate im very sorry to all the people that cannot complete for whatever reason but the fact is i would like to see investment into the development. I have not singled anyone out on this site individually merely speaking generally for the best for my own investment and family.

So spanhod to single me out specially it not very nice and you know what karma is a bummer!

To all else i wish you a merry xmas and happy new year

Iaian,

Thats a bit rich putting out your previous comments and now getting indignant when someone has the temerity to question the rather nasty nature of them. I suggest you re-read your post and then i am sure you will realise why you get a special mention. I am not defending my investment and i suggest you trawl through my previous postings to try and find one that is . Infact you will notice that i have had active and polite debates with many completors on this site and i have on many occurences proffered my best wishes and also my respect for their opinions on why they have chosen to complete.

However you and a couple of others on here seem to take pleasure in the fact that many people are now suffering very badly due to the actions of a despicable company that thinks it can lie, bully and cheat its way to getting hold of their hard earned money. Nobody is blaming anyone for GFC and the continued repercussions of that event , but Calidona sat on their hands with our deposits and pushed back completion dates with no information for 3 years and all of a sudden cry foul when they dont deliver what was promised a long time before economic circumstances changed. There would be no complaints from me or anyone else if they had delivered ontime what was promised in all the advertising material that they were so keen to flash in our faces, but they havent, they wont and they probably didnt even actually intend to do it in the first place. So why dont you aim your venom at the real cause behind both yours and my problems , Calidona. They are the reason why you havent got a clubhouse, hotel, spa, shops, bars etc.. not me. If they believe in this concept so much why arent they the ones that are taking a leap of faith and actually delivering what they claimed they would, instead of asking us to do it for them?

No, its easier for them to restructure the company so that if  Corvera goes bust then it wont bring down the mother ship which by all accounts is a strong financial company . Thats what has happened , so maybe thats where your focus should be and not on those of us that are not prepared to back a company that has shown us no respect and treated us like a piece of filth.

They are in the wrong and they know it. Hence despite your assertions (are you a legal specialist?) that ;

"Mark my words Corvera will start legal proceedures against deposit payers that dont complete and they will win because the Spanish legal system will back the Spanish companies in an effort to kick start their economy."

are wrong to,.

If you want to swallow your pride and apologise for the nature of your comments then im sure there will be no hard feelings but you cant wish ill upon others and then claim Karma is coming to them/me... it doesnt quite work that way, but im sure you will find that out in good time.

Well i have re read my comments and dont considder the part you singled out the offensive bit. I stand by my comment

'"Mark my words Corvera will start legal proceedures against deposit payers that dont complete and they will win because the Spanish legal system will back the Spanish companies in an effort to kick start their economy"

because i think its true but in fairness my comment

"but now im started to get frustrated with all this so i hope Corvera wins back all the properties you non completers default on your deposits (that will really give you something to moan about)  and they get about selling these properties (even on the cheap i dont care)"

was a little offensive. (i would say "such venom" though was a little harsh)

But in truth it is out of frustration because the whole situation is stagnent and nothing is happening and i firmly believe the only way things will move forward (which will help my situation) is by selling the properties. I do think this is the best development in the area in terms of location and will be prosporus with developments such as the airport. It stands to reason that when the site can sustain a clubhouse then one will be built because it will make a profit.

I hope this will be a good investment in the future a slighly longer one than first anticipated

It seems to me that people having a go at Corvera as a business are really having a go at somebody acting exactly as they are  themselves.

Purchasers 'I will not / can not complete until you provide the facilities' = Corvera 'we will not / can not provide the facilities unless you (or a.n.other should you agree to default) complete'.

Purchasers 'I will take the developer to court to get my deposit back' = Corvera ' we will take the purchaser to court for the outstanding balance on their completed property'.

Purchasers 'Corvera have not delivered what they promised' = Corvera 'purchaser has not paid what he promised'.

Seems to me that everybody is at STALEMATE with the exeption of those that have completed and are enjoying their properties at Corvera with the free golf, the horseriding, swimming pools, the tennis and sports area, even if they have to 'adapt' a little and perhaps use the excellent eating/drinking facilities of the great little adjacent town(s).

I obviously love the peacefull lifestyle and as my neighbour said as we wandered along the 5th fairway, looking at the mountains and listening to the peaceful quietness of the place as it is now, 'what better place to be'. But that is just two opinions.

The people who have swapped are you all happy to have done so or is there anyone who regrets  having done so?

We already know those who have no regrets.

Would be interesting to hear if there are any.We seem to only hear from non completers that are unhappy (this is not a criricism to you)  I'm just curious!

a number of people appear to be under the assumption that the more people that complete ..... the more facalaties will be built ..... well on calidonas other unfinished development  RODA  ... the complete oppersite has happened !!!  ..... four phases out of five complete and still no facalaties that were not there on phase one and two ..... add to that as of nov 09 roda was a cash rich company and corvera was the complete oppersite .....  even with cash in the bank they were still not providing facalaties !!

ps , this is not a negative post against corvera ...  simply a FACTUAL account of what has actually happened  with this developer .

searay,

I would like to think that was not a relply to my comment.

This forum now has the problem of repetition from all sides. The same comments appear regardless of the postings title.

EVERYONE with some form of interest in Corvera obviously has every right to post comments but surely (to all posters) it is now time to be more constructive about both the negatives and positives.

I wish everyone who is not willing to complete, for whatever reason, and those who have completed every success with their personal choices.

Now is there anyone who regrets having done a deal ?

Steve could not agree more make that 3 opinions.Having now had 6 trips since we completed last july we love the place as do friends we have taken over and having  talked to another owners have yet to find an unhappy one.

On another note my son is in a golf academy and has just come back with his tutor and 3 other boys from 8 days at corvera and they all loved the place and loved the course. The highest h/cap is 2 in the group the best is +1 and all play county golf.Playing of the black tees the best score was 1 under .So those who have put posts in the past about how easy they found the course try the black tees!
