Hi All

We have a 2 bed on Jardines, but have not yet seen it. as yet.

We got Snaggit Murcia to do the snagging ( naturally)

Am i right in thinking that there is only space for one or tuther, a dish washer or washing machine?

Not sure which to have,.

To be honest when ever we have holidayed in apartments or villas in the past they have had neither.

I`m sure I read a thread where some one said they had had a cupboard built into te space.

Your advice as to what to do would be extremely welcome

Thanks

Jan

Hi Jan,

There's room for both.  Dishwasher under the worktop by the fridge and fridge under the breakfast bar. ( or at least that's waht I'm having  )

There is space and plumbing for both a dsih washer and a washing machine, however some people have had a matching cupboard installed instead of the dish washer - see previous threads.  All depends what you are planning to use the apartment for, rentals work better with a dish washer, if for your own use depends on how good the husband(!) is at washing up.

Opps,

That should say 'washer under the breakfast bar' unless or course you want an extra fridge just for the San Miguel?

Good Evening Phil

I thought some on had been on the Vino Colapso.

As for the San Miguel, you must have read Ham`s mind.

Thanks again to you & Lyndsey for your help in advising me how much more I will need of Ham`s hard earned cash.

Jan

Hiya

I've had a cupboard fitted under the sink instead of a dishwasher.

I requested it through Customer Services - They put me onto a girl from Homestyle called Maria Pardo who was very helpful. It cost about 280 euros and matches all the others. They replace the stainless/metal kickboard fro a continuous one also

I'll post some photos if interested. I havent because I didn't want people to think I was showing off. The partment is fully furnished and I'm pretty proud as we all should be of this development.

Morning Graham.

Long time no speak.

Would love to see photos & I`m sure no one will think you are showing off.

They  may also be of  use for others to see.

Thanks

Hi all,

I've got a good husband to do my washing up so opted for the cupboard.  We paid €175 for Hayes Carpentry to install it.

Another reason we didn't get the dishwasher is we don't plan to rent out and usually go out for a lot of meals while on holiday.  Our dishwasher at home gets very smelly if you don't put it on every night and with the temperatures in Spain I would presume it would need to go on more often.

Perhaps we should've opted for a wine fridge instead

Hello again

The point about the dishwasher getting smelly in the hot weather is worth thinking about.

Ours at home is ok but then the weather hasnt been that great for a few years now.

Having said that , the weather here is lovely to day and it was nice & sunny yesterday. too, I`ve even got the window open .slightly.

As I`m the one who has the central heating on even during the summer ( Sometimes)

Ham would have a coronary. If he new.

He`s always hot & I`m always cold

Bye for now

Jan

Hi Jan

In the other threads about the cupboard versus dishwasher I have said that it really does come down to the individual. We are not going to be renting out commercialy, only to friends and family and, we are not haveing the dishwasher.   Even though I have a dishwasher at home,  I have never missed it when over the years we have rented apartments.  If you eat in the apartment, it's usually only breakfast and maybe a bit of salad, cold meat etc. so personally I think it would be a waste of space and money.  We have had our washer put next to the sink and under the breakfast bar is just a space at the moment while we decide what to do with it.

We have had a couple of quotes but still undecided, I'm wondering wether to leave it and just have a breakfast bar stool under it, especially in the 3 bed, or shall we have a cupboard or drawers?

Haven't approached Hayes carpentry, Dawn, does that price include the kick plate and does the door match the others?

The following is the best quote we've had so far, but I'm not sure if that includes the kick board, and at the time of the quote, they were still sourcing the correct doors, but I'm sure they must have done that by now.

The standard price to source, supply and fit a 600 base unit with door        is €  82.50 + IVA.

The standard price to source, supply and fit a 600 base unit with drawers is €175.00 + IVA.

We don’t load our prices for work at Condado but are transparent in our quotes. Due to the location of Condado, therefore, we do  have to add €40 to cover travel time and fuel.

Hi Cuz

That's a very good price you've been quoted for the kitchen unit even with the fuel charge.

The door we had put in matches the other units and the price included the kick plate.  There is a picture of the unit that Hayes put in our apartment on their website.

Hope this helps

Dont forget your outside space, I have two washing machines that have been outside for over 5 years with no problems and the waste water feed the plants in the summer.
