Has anyone completed yet?  I picked up on the thread that Polaris were supposed to receive the habitation certificate on 21 November and I was expecting to read this week that someone had moved in.  But there has been no news.

Polaris will not tell me when they will have the certificate, but they are threatening me that I have to complete within 20 days of them obtaining it.  Such customer focus is very hard to find!

I WAS ALSO PHONED TODAY STATING THE 20 DAY RULE,HOWEVER THEY COULD NOT GIVE A DATE,I ALSO ASKED ABOUT MY BANK GUARANTEE WHICH IS ALSO IN THE CONTRACT.I ENQUIRED WHEN THE NEXT PHASES WERE GOING TO BE STARTED?WHAT ABOUT RUMORS OF IT ALL BEING PUT ON HOLD?ETC.I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD TALK TO CUSTOMER SERVICES (AGAIN).MAYBE WE SHOULD BE MORE UNITED,BECAUSE MY FEAR IS THAT WE WILL ALL END UP WITH A NICE APT IN A FIELD,BEING TOLD WE CAN USE LA TORRE.

We are also concerned with what is or is not going on!   We have had concerns for sometime, just like most other potential apartment owners. As we understand the Spanish law the facilities that are advertised in the original documentation  must be built but that does not cover the possibility of PW not having any money We feel it is best to put off signing for as long as possible, especially as it appears some other golf resorts have now ceased altogether.

We still may walk away and lose the deposit as possibly we will spend good money after bad.  We have also received an e-mail from Bancaja who are supplying us with our mortgage to say that things are changing and although the mortgage is approved they may change their minds!!  Now considering they have supplied PW with the money originally and we are taking that over is the bank covering it's own back!  If they withdraw the mortgage potential buyers will have to go elsewhere for the money and the original loan to PW will be repaid to Bancaja reducing the banks vulnerability !!!!

Its a real worry isnt it ..  i know we are in a similar postion we should be completing this month (dec) but its all just so uncertain. i have asked for another extension to the completion date today , i didnt think i would say this but losing the deposit might be a lucky escape with how things could go if it all turns sour, everything is against us really isnt it strong euro banks not lending job losses the potential for carnage is very real !  and im actually a very optamistic person!!!  maybe we should all band together and maybe we can get some real answers to the questions .. last thing you want is to have an apartment on a ghost complex which is housing hundreds of fruit pickers who are bored and smoking on the street corners ... although the white walls would look more interesting with some nice graffiti art! hehe ! only joking ... we should get together and form a strong unit.

regards

Latest advice from my solicitor:

Polaris will not give you a date of issue of the FOL because they do not know it for sure; it depends on the City Council, but they expect to get it during this month. I talked this morning to Consuelo López (from Polaris Completion Department) because she is the person in charge of your file, and I asked her the bank guarantee. She is going to ask for it to their Financial Department and will come back to us.
Anyway Polaris is non-fulfilling the contract by not giving you the bank guarantee, this is not an essential point to cancel the contract, so we recommend you keep on working on the mortgage

like Spanky we thinking of walking away too. supposed to be buying on condado butfeel like just cutting my losses and putting the stress behind me paid my 40% but with these tw£ts causing such run on the pound i have now to pay as much as when we started and for what an unfinshed ghost town, got a phone call from polris the other day , very revealling many people are backing out of the final payment, got the ethical talk you know we asked polaris to build this apt etc we therefore should complete without delay, smacked of desperation, majority of pw resorts remain unfinished i got a feeling they will go t£ts up.sorry to be so pessimistic .

sincerely depressed

Hi all

I got a call from P.W. completions department just before Christmas stating habitation certificate will be ready in early January.

We are having serious second thoughts as we really believe TDLT will never be finished and we will be stuck paying a mortgage for an unfinished compex beside a muddy field which was meant to be a golf course.

Loss of the deposit although devestating may be a blessing in disguise in the long term.

We really need to form some sort of group to attempt to fight for either a discount to a nowadays realistic price or some return of deposit. PW are still too big to battle with alone.

Last weekend some friends of ours were in the area so they tried to go and see our property to take some pictures, but were refused entry onto the resort.  They were told that only we as the puchasers could visit the property, and we would only get one chance to visit for a snagging visit and this would not be until we had agreed a completion date.  We have to question what Polaris are trying to hide.

So our stance on this is going to be very simple.  First, we will not entertain a discusion on completion until we have been allowed to at least see where our money has gone to first hand.  If we like the property and are convinced that the facilities will be completed, then we will set a completion date and send in professional snaggers.

I am not sure how we would go about forming a pressure group, but I think this is a good idea.

yep, we are walking , observer , buisiness, bank to cut rates "interest"  further weakening sterling lesson learned hopefuly but fingers burned. We have paid our 40% but still need to raise the same as the original asking price to complete on a place that probably wiil never be finished, however there is a silver lining, look at property on completed sites and the price is plummeting, Torrevieja especially. For less than we would have to pay to complete we can buy a fully furnished aircon installed and bigger by 20m2 apartment almost on the coast and within walking distance to golf, it ain`t all bad.

I think many people are forgetting that when they agreed to purchase with Polaris that they were happy with the product. Yes there will be  some cheaper products on the market due to the current market but are they of the same standard ?

We visited over Christmas and were allowed to do our second snagging. They had sorted out all the minor problems well. News on the Habitation license was that expected  it any day. Work was going on on later phases and on the town area.

I have viewed my apartment and am very pleased with the standard , in fact I thought it was of a high standard. We are the same as everybody else and awaiting the completion certificate hopefully which will be very soon. There is a recession all over the world at the moment and not just in Spain but it will get better eventually, nobody could predict the pound taking such a tumble with the euro but I think that we should all try to stay positive .Everybody is entitled to their opinions and I personally cannot wait to complete and hopefully meet some nice neighbours that we can socialise with and Im sure we can make our own entertainment and have a drink together till the town centre is built.Lets try and get some community spirit going as we could all be neighbours soon

I  agre with Lynne. We should be positive and make the bset of what I think will be a very nice resort. Le Torre is now complete and has everything you need and until the town center in TLT is complete we can use that. It is a lovely area and the golf on the completed resorts is great.

I am also waiting for completion (Block 27) and am looking forward to spending time in the sun on TDLT.

I agree with Lynne & David - lets make this a positive part of life. I visited in November and was very pleased with the apartment and the views and the resort as it is. Given time it will be really really good.  So for those who dont like what they have bought any more - shame - but let us others who want to make a go of it enjoy our investment in another side of life. There are certainly plusses and minuses with PW - but then there will be with other developments too.

Sitting in the cold grey winter of Northern Europe right now, I cant wait to get down there! (Even though I have soon been waiting for 3 years!)

Looking forward to meeting up with others in our new place.

Nic W.

At last !!!  Nice to hear some people who's glasses are half full and a little positivity instead of all doom and gloom.  Don't worry about bobandanne he has previous for posting items to wind people up I think he posts before engaging the old grey matter but everyone is entitled to their own opinion!!  I hope you all enjoy your new property because it is a bloody great feeling when you get it and worth the wait
