We're Chris (46) and Tracey (42), the 2nd welsh couple on this thread, hi Gary and Angela, we have bought a 3 bed apt on Garden 9, going over in Oct to sort everything out. We live in a small village called Ffynnongroyw, try saying that after a few beers, near Prestatyn in North Wales. I used to be a mech fitter down a coal mine now working in a chemical plant making washing up powder, so gone from being really filthy to really clean. Trace is a hard working care worker, we have 3 daughters, Nicola, Aimee and Sophie (23,21,18) and a beautiful Grandson, Finley who was one last week.
      I'm a member of Prestatyn golf club but never practice enough hence the 23 handicap, used to play football but now watch. I love most sports especially Golf, footy and Rugby union, loved the Grand Slam 2008. Trace usually relaxes by taking our Black labrador Ellie for walks on the beach and looking after Finley. I like my beer she likes her wine, any colour really.

Good to hear from so many future neighbours.
We are Kevin and Elaine from Quorn near Loughborough in Leicestershire. We are in our late 40s and have two children - Daniel (16) and Abbie (12). We are looking to use our penthouse apartment on Los Naranjos for holidays and short breaks. A few friends and family likely to be there when we're not.
I work for an American multinational as a supply chain systems project manager, Elaine works part time at a local secondary school.
I've been a life long Man Utd fan (42 years of highs and lows - one low being today !) but don't take it so seriously these days. Used to play golf but stopped when family commitments came in. Hope to start again when over in Spain if I can afford it. Elaine may take it up but loves cookery and trying out different red wines (something we're both partial to).
We're completing on October 22nd and already feel we have made a lot of friends via this forum which is simply brilliant.

Hi Everyone,
Kim (47) & Dave (50) here from County Durham. We have a two bed on Jardines One and completed during August. We are over for two weeks 3rd to 18th Oct for first visit since completing. We have two children, Victoria 25 and Ben 21, Victoria lives in her flat with boyfriend Michael (27) and Ben is still at home.
We are both retired having sold our Printing business in Feb this year, Dave is helping Brother in Law with house refurbishments to get him out of house !.
We both play golf along with Ben & Michael.
Apartment is to be used by ourselves for long stays and also family for holidays. Have already met some forum members and look forward to meeting more.

Hi everyone,

We're Gillian & Iain from East Kilbride (just outside Glasgow). We've got two kids, Lauren's 5 and Jnr's 1.
We've bought a Penthouse in Block 16. We originally had a call with a completion date of 22nd Sept but then had it changed to 17th Oct. Got a sneaky feeling it might get pushed back even further.
Looking forward to using our apartment as often as possible with family and friends also getting the use of it.
Still play footy every Saturday afternoon but I've decided this is my last season, which will allow me to concentrate on by golf swing. Hopefully I can get Gill and the kids into the Golf in the future.

I also work offshore in the Gulf of Mexico in the Drilling game on a 4on 4 off rota,
Hoping to use the apartment every leave and letting family and friends use it the rest of the time.

as you probably already know, I'm Karen married to Mark,  both 40 something!!!  We have 3 kids Megan 16, Stephanie 20, Kyle 23.  The eldest 2 are working in Spain for the summer as holiday reps and are due home in a couple of weeks.  I am a dental nurse working part-time and Mark works in the oil industry offshore in Nigeria.  We bought a 2 bed in Jardin 8 to use for weekends and holidays as much as possible.

We will be in the bar next weekend for the meet and greet.  Looking forward to meeting you all.

If anyone is wondering why I would be posting at 10.55 on a Sat' night, it is because I am offshore at mo' and this is one of the more interesting pass-times. Anyway I'm off to watch match of the day now and see the Geordie nation having a mass protest against the 'Cockney mafia' that is now running the club !
For my sins I only have to support Hartlepool United when I am at home.

Just read your post, and thought we'd say hello as we stay just down the road from you in Hamilton.  We are due to complete on the 15th Oct, in Penthouse 10, so I guess we'll be near neighbours both here and in Spain.  We will be out at Condado between 12th-17th Oct. Are you going out to complete, if so, we might see you out there.

Where do i start............... well i've just got in............ late again ............ i was driving tho, so no drinking.

I'm Dave (41) bought on J4, 2 kids Tom (15) and Beth (14), Tom lives with me, Beth with her mum, work for RBS in Commercial Banking in times that are very interesting (I still say 1.35 by middle to end of next year !) to say the least.

Travelled the world since i got divorced 8 years ago, Brazil, Oz, China, Sri Lanka, USA, Egypt as well as Europe, the final decision to buy was made on a walking/climbing holiday in the Alpujarra when i decided i loved the mountains as much as the sea, so had to find somewhere that suited both at a reasonable price, hence Condado.

Into watching sport, injuries finished me off in late 20's, now watch Rugby League and Cricket (gave up home and away Man City 2 years ago due to the way football was going, i'lll never go back), the Oz trip was centred around the Ashes matches in Sydney & Melbourne and goto Test matches in the UK, and when in the USA it's baseball (have seen the Mets play the Yankees at Shea......... Yankees suck).

I'll drink anything except whiskey & gin, love Rioja & Malbec and good champagne and cognac (my sister lives in Cognac !), always do some Pimms at the cricket as well .

Also heavily into indie, punk & dance music, going to about 30 gigs a year - it's the only thing i'd miss about the UK if i lived in Spain.

Over from 5th to 11th Oct to potter round and choose furniture etc (dates fixed around son's football games), so look forward to meeting anyone who's out there

As you may guess, I am Ted. I am a 46yr old divorcee with a son of 12, have bought a 2 bedroom in Jardin 13, for use as a retreat for long weekends and holidays.  I work for a US bank in London, have been in Finance related jobs for too long to remember, and had a stint with most of the UK banks.  
Living South of London, obviously I support..................................... Man Utd  ( for yesterday - but we will still finish above Liverpool at the end of the season!!), have done for 40 yrs, after being brought up in Wilmslow, and not changing just because I live in the South!! Enjoy most Sports, paricularly football and golf - but looking forward to trying the paddle tennis when over.  Enjoy a drink, preferably a cold beer or nice glass of wine.

I will be over with my Girlfriend, Fiona, at the end of September and look forward to putting faces to a few of the names.

I may as well add my little bit as well.   There seems to be quite a few of us 40 somethings and it seems a lot of off shore workers we should all gel well I suspect.

My Husband is Andy (40 something!!) and he is a commercial investigator which is a posh title for a "PI" and my name is Jackie (also 40 something !!) and I work for Greater Manchester Police (yes as a dibble as our delightful customers call us) we have 3 children between us 2 daughters 22 and 8 and a son 15, eldest daughter left the coop long ago.

We have bought a ground floor on Jardin 2 to use as much as possible, well by me anyway, and to rent out if I can bring myself to let people into it as now that I have got it ready I don't want to let people in!!! it's my little haven.  We have both still got a few years to work before retirement however I will be able to retire long before Andy can - shame that is.... lol  

Since going over last week and getting the apartment finished I have been so depressed at having to come home and put up with this lousy weather here in rip off Britain. I have been an anorak on the flight websites and made sure that I have a flight booked in Nov, Dec and Feb.  We are going on a cruise next month which we have had booked for almost 2 years thinking it would be our last big holiday before getting the apartment - oops got that one wrong.. anyway part of the route on the cruise means a stop at Alicante and yes guess where I am going......  I had a great thought that when you go on a cruise you are not restricted to weight on your luggage so I am taking a raft of heavy stuff for the apartment on the cruise with me.... I thought it was a cracking idea !!!!

                             If you can find a way round the budjet (no so !) carriers charges, good on you. Will the cost of the hire car not out weigh the extra baggage charges though ! I think this might just be a case of you getting withdrawal symptoms having been away from your place so long !
Mrs E (also Jackie) and myself are going back out on 23rd november for 5 days to try and get the lighting & furnishing sorted. Already pre-selected and purchased some of the items. In the process of organising air-con and fitting of electrics while we are there so I can't see why we will not have fun. If you are around, see you in the bar.
Seems like the cops have the biggest team on the forum so far, but the offshore boys/girls are also showing a strong hand. Maybe the first golf challenge !!

Another pair of 40 somethings!!. We're Paul (49) and Jane 48). We have bought on Los Naranjos Jardines no. 8. We have a daughter Hayley (24)  - Manager at First Choice, and a son - Nathan (14) Planning to fly out on 21st Sept to check on the site, see bank and solicitor prior to flying out again on 27th Oct to complete. I work at BAE Systems in Rochester and Jane is part time local shopping centre. My Brother/Sister In Law retired a couple of years ago to a Farmhouse within an hour of the site so having spent a few holidays with them decided to proceed with our own property. Intend to use the apartment for a few breaks a year and will let the family use it when we're not our there. Mad keen golfer (hcp 13) which has gradually crept up from single figures as aches and pains set in. Have found all the threads extremely useful in helping to look at a range of mortgage options, furnituure shop recommendations etc etc.

Looking forward to meeting  as many of you as possible over the coming years. Hope to meet Phil and Ann week beg. 22nd and anyone else who will be in Los Naranjos Jardin 8 during that week. If not, would be good to find out if anyone is planning to be there when we complete

For those we haven’t met yet on site (my wife loved talking to strangers in the new bar) we are Paul and Michelle from Nottingham, were both late thirty’s. I am born and bred in Nottingham and work as a printer in Chesterfield. Michelle is originally from Southern Ireland (Waterford) and works for Rolls-Royce. We have no Kids (cant afford them now !!!) and have bought a two bed on Jardine 2  No200, and are going to try and get out for long weekends and lazy holidays with family and friends.

                Of course you qualify, after all, coal is only another version of the 'black gold' and we know it eventually turns to diamonds. We could have a right 'sparkling' team. We could maybe be the 'Power Rangers' which would open our ranks up to all those in the energy supply game.

                     You are pushing the boundries there ! Firstly, it is your mate and not you - and if it was you, we could only allow it if when you were drilling you were using 'gas' !! (unless of course you are a single figure handicap, then we might make an exception).
