Hi Trish - Welcome to the forum - I can only say our dealings with moneycorp have been very good - If you give them a ring, they will explain everything to you, you are under no obligation to use them, even if you sign up - Good luck with everything

I use Halifax for small amounts  and http://www.halofinancial.com/  for large amounts. Find them very competitive.

Hi Trish,
      We use Caxtonfx to transfer large amounts, they do a minimum £5,000. If you bought through villacashback you will get a better rate, if you did then ask them for a rate then tell them you bought through villacashback and they up the offer.

Hi all,
          Now that people have been completed for a while and regular monthly payments to Spain come into play, what do people think the most cost-effective method is ?  We are with Cam bank and they offer transfers into a sterling account without charges and then a currency exchange transfer from your sterling to euro current account again without charges (obviously the comission is in the exchange rate).
We have carried out all our stage payments and final fees etc through Currencies Direct so I am just wondering what the best method for us will be for these regular payments now.
While on the subject of fees, I am trying to match up what has been paid out with the projection we had leading up to final payment & fees. Can anyone who is with Cam or otherwise provide a translation for the following debits that appear on our statement :-
AMORT. PTMO   @ 15.84 euros x 2.    I think this was for Polaris to arrange NEI ?
Provision @ 3312 euros.     I think this is the Notary/Registry/Gestion/Taxoffice fees ?
CARG. INT @ 30.88 euros.    I think this may be the fee for Polaris applying for water & electricity ?

Everything else I think I can match up.

Regards,

Amort.ptmo = Mortgage payment
Provision = Notary fees etc
Carg.int = Account charge

That's as I understand from my statement.
The account charge should not appear anymore after your mortgage is open.
