I know you CAN open a non-resident account - I'm just thinking of the practicalities of having your income paid into a Spanish account for 3 months while you are still living in the UK and (presumably) still have to pay bills etc. there.

Febe - I think the minumum amount varies from region to region.  

Can I ask - if you had to have 6 months bank statements in a Spanish bank they must be expecting you to open an account 3 months before moving to Spain (given that you have to apply for a residency cert. after 90 days) - is this correct or am I missing something?
