Hi, I have a friend, David, who  lives in San Miguel, he's not a qualified electrician but he is able to put up lights, curtain rails etc for a very reasonable fee. He recently did all my lights in my apt. He has a hotmail account, user name  is davidnewtontt. I can assure everyone that he is very trustworthy & is retired so he can be quite flexible on time.

Hi, for all those buyers, like me, who may have a limited furnishing budget I've just been over to my 1 bed apt & furnished it for approx 1500 euros. I hired an estate car & made 3 trips to Ikea, (follow the road to Murcia, then pick up the motorway to Alicante & turn off after the signs for Murcia University). I took my youngest son with me who is brill with flat pack & we now have a fully furnished apt. Also if you have a UK ikea family card this is valid in Spain , saved me nearly 100 euros on some of my purchases. The staff there speak some english which was great as I can speak only limited Spanish. An estate car will fit most of the flat pack furniture, so long as you are able to put down the back seats. I would also advise putting some decent screwdrivers & an adjustable spanner in your case as some of the furniture needs more than the included allan key to construct.
