 Any news on these jokers?

Number on Paginas Amarillas just puts you on hold then asks you to leave a message. Pretty sure they will charge me for this!

Web site is a holding page (weird for a tech company!)

I am paying them, but no TV signal and nothing in the mail to inform me of anything.

I get the feeling they might be charlatans...

You are asking people who have bought on this development if they would buy on this development. Then again - there are plenty who have changed their minds! Haha.

I reckon the houses are ok. My stepdad is a builder with 30 years´ experience and claims they are pretty good quality and we have had zero problems in the past year.

The village is fine - the best thing about it is the train station - various daily direct trains to Cartagena or Murcia or Madrid and connections to everywhere else. It´s a good location, as the beaches are 10-15 minutes away by car and so are the mountains. And the golf courses. Supermarkets are limited, but improving. Restaurants are few in the village itself, but there are a bunch of cheapo theme restaurants (chinese and THREE indians) on the nearby industrial estate (spanish town planning is a bit retarded). The locals are ok towards the Brits and Irish now that the cash has gotten into their economy. They also prefer us to the other immigrants they have had for far longer: dodgy north africans (in an economical pickle and getting poorer as the days go by - also feel like outsiders as most Spanish refuse to have anything to do with them) and mildly annoying south americans (non-stop crap music, but they tend to keep themselves to themselves in Balsicas to be honest).

The neighbours (the permanent ones and the holiday makers) are a mixed bunch. Obviously! From various parts of the UK and Ireland (a few Spaniards, too, but they tend to steer clear of becoming a part of the neighbourhood), and from varying backgrounds. They can be really cliquey - probably due to boredom and a mild feeling of isolation. Most are lovely, genuine, kind and helpful, but - like anywhere else - they have little grudges and niggles between themselves from time to time and gossiping is at epidemic levels. In short, it is just like anywhere.

Vincent,

I thought you were a committee member.

I believe the contractor (Bobby) does use chemicals, but is it enough? Perhaps it is being given the amount for a private pool of that size and not a communcal pool? Or maybe there is a margin cutting going on - I hate to think that is the case, but it is possible, and with all these infections...

I can´t se us facing a law suit, as we would be suing ourselves, surely. If infections are being caused or passed on by the pool, then it might be the cleaners who would be liable - although I have not had the privelege of reading the contract myself, so I have no real idea.

I would like to hear that the committee has consulted with the cleaner and also with some public health authority to ensure that this pool is receiving the appropriate maintenance for its size and community numbers.

Does the committee read this stuff, or should we be passing this thread on to them?
