 Spanish police might make a mistake as to the car speed.

What happens if  the people in the car can't remember who was driving at the time?

 It seems to be the French police who have it in for British drivers.

A couple of English friends had hired a car in England for them both to drive. They had gone thru' a speed camera

about 10mph too fast and the car hire company and persued them, eventually.

Both drivers couldn't remember who was driving on a Wednesday evening at 1900 hrs four or five weeks back.

After a few letters to each, from the police, and nasty threats, they got off with it.

But that was England.

WARNING to everyone about to hire a car.  If the company has connections with Car Trawler from Ireland they'll  rip you off.

Three months ago at Malaga Airport, I picked up a hire car for a week at a reasonable price. 

In addition,  I was asked for 65 Euros for a full tank of diesel and told to return the car with an empty tank.

  I only covered about 200 miles and was left with about 50 Euros of diesel in the tank, which I was not compensated for.

It WAS listed in the smallprint, but I would still class this as dishonest. 

I certainly would not be allowed to steal 50 Euros from Cartrawler, and expect to get off with it.

I hasten to add that most Irish people are honest, just my bad luck to deal with the dishonest ones.

I'm recently back from holiday in Malaga.  No hi viz or triangles in our Centauro hire car.

Good value at 85 Euros per week thru' CarTrawler, Dublin.  Ripped off though--paid 67 Euros for a full tank of diesel

and was told by Centauro to have an empty tank when the car was returned.  Well I used about a third of a tank leaving about 50

Euros.

Other people returning their vehicles and had a full tank were being refunded with their initial fuel deposit. Centauro were blaning

Car Trawlers and vice versa.  Who gets my 50 Euros??
