Hi everyone, just to let you know that there was no work being done on site up until yesterday, the pool is still very merky and dirty, although the rubbish opposite the side entrance near the olive grove has been cleared up and also the street, although with the lavante in the past week some rubbish has blown back down the hill!! To be honest it's been so hot no work has been done anywhere after about 1pm. But fingers crossed!!!

Hello All, we were the first people to complete in block 1 and understand all of your frustrations. We have been paying into the community for 4 years now with Mercedes managing, the frustration is that there is insufficient money going into the community pot to do thorough maintenance on the site. This has always been because of the number of empty apartments, which Romanber won't pay their contribution for, and also, there were a few properties which people owned that didn't pay their community fees, so quite rightly Mercedes issued court proceedings against them. Mercedes has always been quite open to listen to our issues, and has resolved quite a few problems but she can only do so much as there was not enough money in the community pot to do the things that we really wanted sorting out as a priority, ie; completing the gardens, regular cleaning of the communal areas, maintenance of the exterior of the building, re painting, and of course the swimming pool. We have also complained and the rubbish opposite the blocks next to the olive grove and the general rubbish in the streets, the council seem to sweep all the streets except ours! We were always led to believe that as more people completed, they would join the existing community and add to that pot. Mercedes is employed by us to manage the existing site and negotiates current contracts like the lifts, insurance etc, there is an annual community meeting in March where you can vote for a President of the community and if required we can appoint a new person to manage the community, but there would be the same problems if the whole community are not paying their contributions. We have also heard the rumours that the Banks are going to be taking over, but we have also heard that Romanber are going to be doing a let to buy scheme which they hope will fill some of the empty apartments.

Any thoughts?

Hi

Make no mistake the developers will, and need to complete ASAP. July/August are very slow months in this area for getting things done setting aside  the problems in the Spanish building industry at this time.    Understand your frustration we too have been in your position.

Rest assured it will be worth it!!  although it is easy for me to say.

OK, I'll be the first to make some noise!

Just back from a week in Arcos, extremely hot, in the forties most days. The first two blocks are looking good, still being cleaned regularly and the communal area in the middle has been weeded and is ready for planting up, which I'm told by Mercedes will be very soon. The swimming pool is coming along well, the builders are even working saturdays to get it finished ready for the summer. The other new adjoining blocks are looking good and are nearing completion, the false wall in the underground car park between the new and the first blocks was knocked down while we were there.

The first bills for the garbage collection have come in, they are 19 euros a quarter and can be paid locally at one of the banks in the town, it's very easy. There is also a bill of 29 euros for the year which is for driving into the entrance of the car park, as this is apparently owned by the council.

The site is coming along well and there seems to be more of an effort made in keeping the site clean now, as more of it is being completed.
