At last,it looks like we will be completing mid July into Plot 24. So we can plan our fortnight and get as much done as possible. Can anyone recommend air con suppliers/fitters and also as anyone had any additional security grills fitted to their property? Also can some one recommends a locksmith?

Thanks for all your messages.

I've since spoken to our agent MASA and they have confirmed that we will be issued with a temperary NIE number on day one and assuming mortgage/money is sorted out, we would get the keys to our new home on day two. Its sounds like there's a lot of standing, around but all that will soon be forgotten when we get the keys.

Hi

We would certainly be interested in any quotes you get for additional security. Our house is a 3 bed terrace. We had thought for the utility area at the rear, that we could possibly have a grill fitted over the flat roof to make it more secure? As far as I can remember its just the rear downstairs door/windows and the solarium door/window which don't have any grills.

We did read/heard  somewhere that the first thing you should do is change the locks on the doors and these are used by all the contractors?

Can people let me know their experiences in getting their NI number. We don't plan to come over to Spain until our house is ready. Originally we were told by our agent that they would take us to the relevant police station to apply along with other people who were signing up at  the same time. I've now received a letter from them indicating that we should be doing this ourselves (going to ring them and get the right information). But in the meatime, I understand that things have changed whereby after applying at the police station you then have to wait approx 10/15 days before you are given the NI number? As anyone applied direct to the Spanish Embassy here in the UK?
