Hi All,

I was just going through some of my old paperwork and came across the Colinas Del Lago stuff so thought I would do a quick search to see what ever happened.

Well we never got any money in the end, 50K up the spout. TU went bust but they were part of a bigger outfit based in Madrid so our solicitor thought he could get something through them. The property that we got seized never came our way. The British couple that had bought it managed to get the courts to side with them. Our solicitor finally gave up in 2010 saying we would never get anything, he didn't charge us for his time but said that we had to pay 3000 euros for the barrister and court fees. Needles to say we told him we were not paying anything as he botched the thing up in the first place by spending a year trying to get TU to pay up instead of taking them to court straight away while they were still solvent. Never heard back from him.

As it happens with what I have read over the past years about the area being rife with crime. no none being able to sell and properties standing empty it seems like we made it out alive and escaped a worse fate than if we had actually moved to Spain.

OK, sorry i haven't been on for a long time, but here goes. in January this year we won the case to have TU give us our money back plus 5,000 euros to our solicitor. as they didn't pay this, our lawyer got possession of one of there properties to have it sold via auction to pay our costs. this is still going on at the moment, even our lawyer dispairs of the Spanish legal system, and he is Spanish!! He told us they were all over the local news a while back because they didn't pay the electricity on 2 of the deveopments they built, so the power company turned off the electricty to the 2 developments and the residents have to foot the bill. even the property we seized they have sold to an English couple for 200,000 euros, as the couple contacted our brief to find out why his name was on the deed!!! These people have now lost all of their money

I had put down 50,000 euros in Jan.05 for phase 4, after my Spanish lawyer chasing Urbanistica for nearly 18 months we now have a court date of Sept. 24 this year where they will be forced to pay up. They even tried to offer me a new place as compensation ON THE SAME DEVELOPMENT!! Even my lawyer says these people are cheats. They just keep promising that they will pay, but never do. They offered to pay the outstanding 50,000 about 1 month ago for us to stop our court action, but we refused as we would have been out about 5,000 euros on legal fees. This development will never be built, my legal team has all the documentation to prove this. If anyone needs help with suing them go here and ask to speak to Javier, tell him Mr. Young sent you.
