We visited La Cata restaurant last night and what a pleasant surprise. I had been there previously last summer but this was much improved.

We went quite early at about 7.30 and there were already about 5 other tables in. The atmosphere was nice with candles and it was warm and inviting.

The service was good and the waiter was very helpful. We ordered and a small free apetiser of paella arrived which was a nice touch. My husband has tomato soup followed by roast chicken and i had melon with ham and a delicious lasagne which was as good as I have ever had and was obviously home made with plenty of meat. We had a jug of Sangria and then we were offered a free shot of Bailey. All for 31 euros.

We are thinking of driving over to Condado this summer and am looking for any suggestions or experiences.

We were thinking of taking a week to get down there stopping overnight in a few different locations.  We would at some stage like to stay a few days in the Dordogne. Ideally we would leave the UK on Sunday to arrive a week later and then stay in Condado for 4 weeks. When we return we would like to do a different route back and again arrive back in the UK a week later. We would also like to stay near Biarritz on some stage of the journey back.

If anyone has done something similar or has any experiences that they could share including what to avoid we would be very grateful.
