We have just had out insurance renewal  for our ground floor apartment on CDS and as we have no comparisons we asked some friends on CDS what their premiums were.
It was interesting to find out that some only covered their contents and not buildings as they are under the impression that builings are covered within their community fees.
Could anyone clarify this as we obviously don't want to paying a higher premium than nececessary.

Many thanks.

We have just returned from CDS to see for ourselves the damage caused by the recent deluge - we were one of the lucky ones in PM4 as we only has 2-3 inches in the store room. However if you are in blocks 28 and 29 your store room has been under water by at least 5' 10". They have now pumped everything out and pressure washed all the floors and store rooms that have been opened - However there are several store rooms still locked and these rooms have 2-3 " inches of sludge which needs cleaning out - If you owm an apartment in blocks 28 and 29 and have not made any arrangements to go across to CDS we would suggest re-considering

On a separate issue can anyone tell us when the next meeting for PM4 will be - Gary if you read this can you give us plenty of notice - I would like to be there to convey my points on security - which has to be the number one priority at the moment along with the gardens and rumours  regarding reduction in pool sizes

If anyone in block 28 or 29 wants to see the photos of the underground store / garage drop me a line

We were unable to attend the meeting on the 7th September due to unforseen work issues, but can anyone tell us who is our new president, and what issues were discussed?

Thanks

Community thread: PM4 MEETING

We have just returned from CDS, unfortunately will not be there for AGM on the 7th - Various issues have come to light regarding the site which will need to be discussed

Gardens - in our opinion the gardens have nor really improved since we were last there in May- the new gardening contractor has stated the irrigation system is not 'up to the job' . I have heard they have quoted to up-grade/replace the existing irrigation scheme at a cost of 150,000 euros - this equates to 300 euros per apartment - surely the original contractor should be made to put this right if it is not fit for purpose - the new contractor will always have a get out clause if plants die becasue they are not watered properly.

What are the thoughts of the new 'management team' of selective planting with maybe 4 or 5 plants in a flower bed with decorative gravel with a membrane? This would keep the cost down, make the beds look attractive and the little water we have for irrigation might keep thse plants alive? And it will look better than the weeds we have at present

We have heard as well the grass laid is totally the wrong style, even if the irrigation system was working correctly

Can someone find out from the gardening contractor what they think is wrong with the system - is it piped in-correctly? is the pipe size too small? are the nozzles incorrect - should there be more nozzles? or is the pump sizing in adequate

Ground floor apartments - terraced area - This may become a major issue with the people owning a ground floor apartment and what can and cannot be done regarding the usage - for our own information, do you have a ground floor apartment or first floor/penthouse?

Another thought - the very expensive post boxes we have all contributed to - where very few people have keys - the postal service will only deliver to one drop off point on a residential area - not to these communal post boxes scattered around - are these going to be surplus to requirements

I think for fridays meeting the main two issues are gardens and security - with a proper security hut and barrier - after all we were promised this initially   - along with many other things

Regards
