Hi

As per the clubmurcia website, the Spring dates are 25th May to 27th May.

If you email the pro shop at alhama@irmgolfexperience.com they will be able to confirm both.

Please post on here though as I haven't asked about the end of the year yet!

Cheers

Community thread: Golf course maintenance weeks?

--------------------------------------

Agree with a lot of the comments above.

Used clubmurcia many times and they've always been reliable and the cheapest way to pick up good deals with buggies.

Just got back from Spain and played Alhama and El Valle.  Both are great courses but I'd say right now that the greens need another couple of weeks to recover from hollow tining as still a bit sandy and not as fast and true as normal. I only say this as I know how good they are when they are in top condition and it obviously can't be helped that they have just been hollow tined - just bad timing on my part.  Good to see the Alhama lakes all full again (with the exception of holes 4 & 5)

Las Colinas was immense last August.  Would play that every golf holiday given the opportunity.  Yes its a bit more pricey but if you can make the early / twilight tees through clubmurcia, it starts to get very reasonable.

Aguilon is a stunning course but very challenging.  A lot of tight fairways with ravines everywhere so take plenty of balls if you are a high handicapper.  A buggy is also a must, as there is no way you would want to walk it, especially in the heat, with some long distances between holes.

Lorca is another course with quite a few ravines to take on.  I wouldn't say its as hard as Aguilon but its still a very good course and closer than most.  Again they have good deals through clubmurcia.  I've played it three times and the last time (October last year) the tee boxes were in an awful state and needed a good cut.  Only a minor gripe as would much rather fairways and greens in good shape and may have just been a one off as previous rounds had been fine.

Quite often play Hacienda de Alamo just because it's the closest to visit from Alhama.  Reasonable prices on clubmurcia.  A long course and having played recently, the greens and fairways were in good shape.

Roda is a good course - probably one of the easier ones for the higher handicapper as quite open.  Enjoyed the island green signature hole!

Played some of the others a few years back...

La Peraleja - had lightning greens but the fairways weren't in the greatest condition when I played which put me off going back.

Altoreal - Different to all the other courses as its in the middle of murcia and much more like a park course in the UK, with plenty of trees.  Remember it being very busy when we went, but had no complaints other than that.

La Serena - If you like the challenge of water then this could be one for you with 16 of the 18 holes having water involved.

Corvera - found it a bit boring to be honest but thats only my personal opinion!  Another cheap one through clubmurcia.

Of all the courses I've mentioned and given the choice, I'd play Alhama, Las Colinas, El Valle or Aguilon every time !  But yet to play La Torre, Saurines, Mar Menor or any of La Manga's which are still on my list to tick off!!

Cheers

Community thread: Condado golf course Maintenance

04 Feb 2014 12:23 PM:

I keep meaning to update my directions that I give to friends when they use our apartment, as I noticed the exit numbers changed last year on the road from Alicante Airport to Condado.

Would really appreciate if someone could please post the updated directions with the new numbers if possible?

Many thanks!

Community thread: Directions from/to Alicante with new exit numbers

Hi Stuart

I've been on a number of golf trips over the last couple of years and David Ingman has proved to be extremely reliable and good value each time we have been out there.  www.condadoexcursions.com.  If you get in touch with him and let him know which courses you are planning on playing, he can give you an idea on the price to and from each course.  He has also always picked us up from the airport, on time and hassle free, even when we were delayed.

In regard to courses, take a look at www.clubmurcia.com.  Im most cases, I've found them cheaper than contacting the course direct and also any other website.  They have some fantastic offers available.  We played Las Colinas last year for €50 each with a buggy, which I believe is normally nearer €100 per person without a buggy.  Other courses around also offer good value including Lorca and Hacienda de Alamo.  I've also played Roda, Peraleja, La Serena, Altorreal and of course Aguilon which is a huge test for any golfer (lots of ravines) but has some great holes.  Those you mentioned are also obviously great tracks but the Jack Nicklaus courses don't tend to have many offers on them in regard to price.

Cheers
