Our friends have a property that they had built in 1982 and have recently picked up recorded delivery letter from Endesa informing them of the need to have an ICP installed. We have a property nearby which was built in 2007. We have not received a letter and our contract is for 9.2 kw. Is it likely that our system complies so does not need any further protection? We are in England now until our next visit in late February so cannot inspect the consumer unit in ours until then. It does seem that the Electricity companies can do very well out of this Royal Decree!

Hello Patrick,
Although we have completed we are not travelling out until the 2nd August so have not had need to use utility services. We have signed for electricity and water supply and expect all to be ok when we arrive. If you are made aware of any problems perhaps you will let us know.
Regards,
Brian routledge

Hi Carol and Eric,
We are just awaiting the licence to be issued then we can get sorted but we still don't have any idea of when this is likely to happen. Regarding snagging, whist I am a Chartered Building Surveyor I decided not to fly out to do my own inspection. Instead I contacted a surveyor called Philip Nott info@propertysi.com web site www.propertysi.com He provided a report in Spanish and English together with digital photographs for a reasonable fee and also sent copies to the Developers and my Spanish lawyer. We have arranged a partial furniture package through a Spanish lady called Lola Galvin who furnished the show flat . We have found her to be very helpful and if you wish to contact her then here-mail is info@mobile-dis.com web site www.mobile-dis.com We have not investigated the set up of the community as yet. We would be pleased to meet up with you at some time. Hope this is of some help.
Kind regards
Brian
