The Costa Blanca News wishes to speak to people who have bought into Santa Anna del Monte at Jumilla in relation to the developer San José starting bankruptcy proceedings.
The contact is Dave Jones  address   djones(at)cbnews(dot)es
He is writing a story for this Friday's edition (16 May 08), the usual deadline is Wednesday. If you have a point or questions that need raising, it may be worth contacting him.
By the way I am nothing to do with the paper, I just happen to be in email conversion about Jumilla golf that Dave Jones received.

In reply to 'Auntielinda' - I saw the news article in the INFORMACION newspaper, which is a daily covering the Alicante Province. It is also in other papers which you can see if you search in google for san jose inversiones suspensión de pagos.

The link to the INFORMACION story has been posted today by 'Arnoldg' if you look below. Sorry  I am not authorised to post links on this forum as I have only signed up today.

The article on the process on bankruptcy in Spain posted by 'Willyboy' provides a good explanation in English.

Going by what the papers say, the answer to this question is YES.  San José are seeking bankruptcy protection.

Please read this news report and then contact the company San José to hear their response!

I can not post a link on this forum, but if you search in google for san jose inversiones suspensión de pagos look at the INFORMACION site or others.
However, in my opinion, the future of the Jumilla Santa Anna Golf resort is flawed due the lack of water. The Segura water authority CHS has been on a emergency state for the last years, and water transfers from the Tajo river are getting less reliable. Such a project, boasting 2 golf courses is unsustainable. It is hugely irresponsible for this project to get to this stage, in an area that is in such a precarious position with its water. It is too far inland and too high for desalinated water from coast to be viable, and future river link ups are less and less likely..namely the Júcar and l'Ebro rivers.
