I'm a little unclear - if it was not discussed at last Friday's Mijas Town Hall meeting, was it not discussed because it wasn't even on the agenda ?

I for one will be happy to support a legal pursuit of the matter - I've only been waiting two years, but am as frustrated as everyone else at the lack of progress and the continuing 'mañana' responses. Reach me at petellew@logic.bm

best regards

I woudl definitely agree with Mark on this one - I'm not even sure how practical it would be to sell the apartments when there is no occupation license in place for the development and, having displayed the great patience that everyone has shown so far (and I'm only a fairly recent signer, as of February 05 !), it does seem like we're now too close to the final stages to back out...

My two pesetas worth !

I'm a late comer to the discussion, although not to the development, as I committed to the purchase of one of the last three units (number 49 in Bock 3) in February 2005. It's almost two years now and my deposits are sitting unused and unclaimable due to the licensing and other issues. I am frankly dismayed to hear from your notes how much still remains to be done, and fully support some action being taken t move this forward. In an earlier post (in October), you indicated a degree of satisfaction with what Victor and Pavel and others had done during your visit to the site : is this still your view ? I must admit that I don't feel inclined to jeopardize the eventual purchase, but I am in favour of sending the message that this has gone on long enough.

From the fact that you visited and efforts were made to meet your expectations at the time but that those have not led to a satisfactory conclusion yet, I am not sure that a vist en masse would have the desired effect : I haven't been to the site since Feb 05, though, so will have to go along with the community opinion, meaning that if such a visit is planned, I will be there... In the meantime I am happy to take a role in any letter-writing campaigns, or other direct action  that we decide is needed. Please feel free to contact me at petellew@logic.bm

Cheers

Folks

I have only today come across this message board, and am only sorry I didn't see it before ! It sounds like my position is very similar to many others - won't complete until there are assurances that everything we signed up for is in place, and anyway can't complete as the mortgage company won't consider it without the license of first occupation. I've asked my lawyer what action I might consider, but individual action is unlikely to lead anywahere. I would be happy to give support to any action that is proposed to escalate this, if indeed the LOFO is not granted in the next month.

I don't have the freedom to travel at short notice, (based in Bermuda), but have been considering a trip to try and escalate things. If any others are planning similarly, it would be great to collaborate on timing and objective !

Best regards, and merry Christmas to all

Hi folks - I'm new to this thread, having stumbled across the site during a Google search... I haven't had a chance to read everything so far, so am sorry if the following info is already known.

My most recent correspondence this week with my lawyer (I am buying unit 49 in Block 3) indicates this :

"I have today personally spoken to Jose Luis Chifón, the lawyer of Finca San

Antonio. He has categorically told me without any doubt or hesitation that

the final application for the issuance of the License of First Occupation is

on the agenda of the Urbanistic Department of the Town Hall of Mijas. Once

there, and in view of the backlog, the daily agenda may be shortened if some

applications take longer to be discussed than usual.

On Friday 22nd. the weekly commitee is expected to review this matter. Jose

Luis Chifón goes to the Town Hall twice a week and although he is certain

that the matter is about to come out, he does not think that Friday will be

the day as it is too close to Christmas. He is confident and gave me his

word that January will be the month when it will be granted."

Like everyone, I suspect, I am taking this with  a pinch of salt, having received a number of earlier promises that the closure could take place imminently.
