Hi All,

We agree with all the points listed so far, and we are going to be at the meeting on Friday morning. Another point to add is a request for more transparency. Or any transparency at all. By transparency, I mean that whenever money disappears from my account, then I would like to see a factorization, an invoice, a breakdown of some kind. However, if the costs are fixed for each 12 month period, then perhaps an annual statement is sufficient, however the statement must be in advance not in arrears.

See you then,

Patrick

It was too short notice to get a forum together at the end of December, beginning of January, unfortunately.

However when I returned to Ireland, I did receive a notification in the post from Carlo about a meeting on 15 Feb. So, some questions in advance of this meeting, which I am planning to attend:

1. Has everybody else received a notification from Carlo about this meeting?

2. Do the residents want to have a pre-meeting the day before the Carlo meeting, so that we can prepare our position?

3. Do we have any candidates for community officers?

4. Do we need to organize voting transfers for people who cannot attend the meeting?

Is anybody around in Los Iris during the Christmas holidays? I would like to meet up and talk about the community issue if anybody else is interested. I am particularly keen on finding out who is managing the community right now and opening a channel of discussion with that party. Right now I have the uncomfortable feeling of paying serious money into a black hole, with no documentation, no receipts, no explanations. It might all be above aboard, but it is not the way that I am accustomed to doing business. I would like some transparency and accountability. Would anybody like to meet and discuss these points during the holiday period, after Christmas and before the New Year?

Thanks for the summing up, Darren. All our experiences seem to be adding up into a similar picture. We need to start meeting up to develop a unified strategy. It does not make sense for all of us to be asking the developer the same questions.

We thought the setting up cost was arbitrary as well. There was no discussion about the level of the reserve fund, just a figure set by the developer. But there is not much we can do about that at this stage.

The community uses the current charge to pay for on-going common costs such as landscaping, street lighting, cleaning the common areas, maintaining the pool and security. I would like to see the accounts of these costs so that I can understand how these high individual community charges are calculated. Extrapolating from the community charge that they want us to pay for Jan to Jul 2008, I calculate that these communal running costs are in the order of 35,000 euros a month. That seems a lot. Does anybody have any idea how we can see the accounts?

In my opinion, the sooner we have a proper community set up, the better. It is in our interest.
