I have a property in El Pinet. I have lived on the Urb - for 9 years now, and have some understanding of Iberdrola's charges for electricity.
My latest bill, in yesterday, is for 138,36euros for a 61 day period. The basic unit cost of one unit of electricity has just gone up to 14.8729 eurocents. My consumption was 526 units, so I am actually paying 136.36euros divided by 526 eurocents per unit. That is 26.3 eurocents per unit. (There is a contract charge, a surcharge, equipment rental charge all +18%vat each month)
On a 3.5 kW contract it would have been 21.7 eurocents per unit, on a 5.5 kW contract 23.3 eurocents per unit and on a 7.5 kW contract 24.8 eurocents per unit.
Until things are finalised in El Pinet and Iberdrola have installed the correct supply, the most we can expect is 3.5 kW. The cost would realistically be somewhere in the 21 to 22 eurocent range per unit.
Rumour has it that Iberdrola are charging something in the region of 19eurocents per unit for our builder's supply.
I am writing this in the cause of realism. If, when we are billed, the cost per unit is in that 21 to 22 eurocent region let us not hear an outcry of whingeing that a unit only costs about 15eurocents. Realistically it is what we would pay in normal circumstances.
