the main road through san cayetano has been left with very very overgrown tough weeds to stick out into the road. these

a) obstruct your view while driving approaching a bend

b) cause road users on either side to move further towards the middle of the road increasing the likelyhood of an accident.

 

The bins are normally collected each night and every night of the year -- EXCEPT IN AUGUST WHEN THE HEAT IS AT A PEAK AND THE FLIES MULTIPLY AT THEIR MAXIMUM RATE!!!

 

Both problems are a result of the neglect and disgraceful attitiude of the council/ayuntamiento of Torre Pacheco. They have 

 

a) cut and trimmed all the roads' problem weeds and overgrown organic matter throughout the perimeter of the village -- but have ingnored the main central road/route through the village / Calle Primera

 

b) the council have advised the bin collection company/contractors (who use alternative people in August because the normal collectors/personnel are on holidays) not to collect the rubbish from THE TARAY DEVELOPMENT every night but ONLY THE SAN CAYETANO VILLAGE. 

 

The explanation i have received from the bin men was that their bosses have advised them that WE HAVE NOT PAID FOR NIGHTLY COLLECTIONS --- ONLY FOR EVERY 2ND NIGHT.

 

I advised them that we receive NIGHTLY COLLECTIONS for the entire year EXCEPT AUGUST when the human resources/personnel are changed but they were powerless to offer to change their routine from 2nd nights only. They will still collect rubbish from SAN CAYETANO the original village elements every night though... Only the Taray developement will not receive this service.

 

so...

 

If you think both of these neglections are faithful to your payments to the Council/Ayuntamiento of Torre Pacheco, do nothing. If however, like me you feel ripped off and discriminated against, then i would advise that you take this matter up with the council/ayuntamiento of Torre Pacheco and/or the mayor who should respond and feel responsible to explain why we are 2nd rate citizens of San Cayetano despite being forced to pay taxes to cover these charges (normally found as Basuras on your water bills).

 We had a terrible indian meal in the copper pot (or something similar) in villa martin recently - the curry was like soup from a tin and disgusting - there was hardly any meat at all and the pieces were tiny. To make things worse - we had to wait for a hour to receive the food.

 

I told the owner how bad it was and told him it was the worst curry i have had in the last ten years (probably longer) but he didnt care - the attitude in spain is not like in the UK - there is no or little consumer protection so shopkeepers/restuarant owners etc dont care about your complaints.

 

best thing to do is tell everyone you know when you find a bad place and that might hurt their business.

people ARE lazy - both in and out of holiday peak season - people holiday in SC all year. people in SC are lazy whether on holiday or not and that is not just a "negative" comment for the sake of it, i support the call from PSM to get people to think a little bit more about such an easy topic.

 

1) please think about the rubbish and the colour or type of bin for it

 

2) please done deposit until evening to reduce flies (it is normal in spain that you will deposit your rubbish in the evenings)

 

3) please close the lid to the bin once you have put your rubbish inside

 

4) please consider whether the bin has reached capacity and using another bin would be a good idea

 

it is natural for people to comment on topics like this (community) as this is a public forum. dont attack - think!

we have just received new bills from the council in torre pacheco - fine - they look cheap compared to britain. The cost of the bins collection service is sneakily transfered onto your/our water bills.

 

The bin men have recently (since june) decided to randomly fail to collect bins on the taray development. they still send the truck to the village and collect from the original part, but they dont collect from the new (taray) part every night. when they miss (now looks deliberate - perhaps under instruction?) flies fester and and become extra high in numbers.

 

we all suffer and potentially get swarmed by flies carrying horrible germs because of this. public health is the issue noted here, but importantly WE PAY for the collection service to occur every night (understanding that saturday night/sunday morning is their day off) and this is not happening. is this a money saving measure?

 

if you are feeling unhappy about this, please complain to torre pacheco council.

some points made were really good. Other things you have written for public digestion are embarassing (they are for me and they should be for you). You dont reconcile all your good information when  you  leave messages like you did for me.

You dont know what i have been doing or who i have been talking to! If you have questions that you would like to ask me, you should have shown some etiquette and send them to me directly. Perhaps we should meet up in Spain and you can talk to me person-to-person and we can practice being social?

I am very happy about MDC and their help to people.

Good luck with any enquiries to Taray and i hope that things progress very soon - I will moving to SC soon and am looking forward to living in a lovely spanish village.
