I can't agree more.My mother tongue being French please excuse in advance my poor English.I rent on March 23, 2015 in Tenerife a car from Goldcar.I'm travelling 2 or 3 times a year for the last 40 years and I never had a really bad experience except with this Company Goldcar.Right from the beggining they charge me 80 euros for the gaz and they make me understood that I had no choice.I discover while driving in Tenerife that the price at the pump is half that price for a full tank.I book through the brooker Rentalcar and nothing on their web sight show that I have to pay this 80 euros for the gaz.Also the way Goldcar meticulously examine the car taking note of microscopic chips I just got scared and knew that it will cost me if they find even a little scratch on their car.
Unfortunately I make a mistake by giving late the car and they make me paying heavily for it.I paid 57 euros total to rent the car for 6 days and when I ask how much I have to pay for the few hours late return they told me 40 euros.Compare with the price of the overall price of renting I find the penalty a bit high but I have no problem to pay but insist that they will be no other charge and they confirm verbally.
Back home in Montreal later I receive my credit cart statement and realize that beside the 40 euros they charge an additionnel 80 euros that I didn't sign for. They just put it on my card and confirm me when ask lately that it was related to my late return of the car.So I end up paying 120 euros for few hours of late return while the total rent was 57 euros for 6 days.Taking 80 euros on my card without my signature means for me that they didn't have the courage to tell me that when I was there,knowing full well they can't justify such a cost.
