Hi All

 

We had our interest and costs returned to us at the end of 2012 after nearly 3 years in total from the start of the process. The initial deposit was returned in about a year but the rest took nearly 2 years. One thing, Lexland still deducted their own fees from our final payment - this still baffles me if we have had our costs covered by the courts... We bought at Flamini.

Still no news on our costs and interest payments. In four months this will be the 3rd year anniversary since we decided to get our money back.

People have lost so much money on developers in Spain going bust. I am at least grateful we had some good legal protection from Lexland. But the Spanish system is so slow it is enough to put anyone off buying property in Spain - and we love the country. Ridiculous and very frustrating. Unless we win the lottery we would never buy there again.

This time last year Lexland advised us they hoped this would be settled before the end of the year - and here we are again!

 Has anybody had their legal fees and interest returned yet? We had an email stating things had been agreed but the courts still need to rubber stamp things - that was about a month ago. This has now been over 2 years for this money to be returned and 3 1/2 years since we activated our bank guarantee!

Does anyone know if anybody did stay in and buy at The Village (Flaminios)?

 Has anyone heard from Lexland on our costs and interest payments? JG indicated we would have at least some news before the end of July. Even though I have sent 3 emails throughout August I have had no reply at all.

We are over there in a few weeks and plan to call in at Lexland

Can anyone help?

No, Lexland did not charge anywhere near the amount you quoted for their services - it was around €9,000. We are also owed interest by the insurer on our deposit. This is what we are still waiting for. I just wondered if anyone had been paid everything back.

On another note, I cannot believe why VR never offered any of us a discount to stay with the purchase. They are now selling the units for as little as €140,000. Crazy.
