I recently sold a property in Malaga and I didn't use a solicitor. The process is fairly straight forward, unlike the UK.

However, I am experiencing problems reclaiming the 3% tax which was retained by the Buyer and paid to the tax office. I  completed the appropriate 211 form back in January. Anyone got any information as to how I can chase this money?

Greatly appreciated.

Hi

We have used Gold Car Rentals based near the Don Juan hotel in Aguilas and they proved to be the cheapest and most efficient. If you log onto their website and book from there, it is cheaper than going into their office or going through an agent/holiday accommodation company.

Hope that helps.

Warning Poison!

Sadly, it seems we have the return of the dog/cat poisoner. Several dogs have been rushed to the vets in Aguilas after consuming meat/sausages containing rat poison and/or weed killer. The perpetrator is leaving the contaminated food in the campo/in the streets in and around the Noravel area but, even worse is also throwing the meat over the walls into the gardens of the Noravel houses. At the moment it seems to be restricted to the Noravel area but, who knows what a sick person like that will do next. Obviously it is dangerous to humans and in particular infants and children. It is against the law, even in Spain, to lay poison down [even if you want to rid yourselves of any local rats within the bounderies of your own property] and should be carried out only by a qualified trained professional. So, be vigilant and report anything suspicous to the police immediately, [better still take photographs].

Not a good advert for San Juan de los Terreros!
