Hi Ruth,

We have flown into Jerez, Seville and Gibraltar. We too normally use Auriga Crown as we have found them to be the cheapest, but the cars you get can vary in quality.

When there are just the two of us we normally get a compact. The last time from Gibraltar we were given a Kia Picanto which we drove all over the place but we were relieved to get back to the airport with it as it felt like it was about to collapse. Having said that we have also used them in Jerez and we were upgraded (FOC) to a very nice Honda Civic. Also probably wise to upgrade the insurance just for piece of mind, although I have never driven on the tight streets of Arcos but prefer to leave it outside the apartment and walk.

Thanks for the update Adam. I can only agree with what Nigel/Diane have said about Romanber backing up words with actions.

If it turns out to be true then maybe it gives us some hope regarding the utilities.

Would like to echo comments made about Zindicato. Really good size tapas for €2 each. Very basic inside but always seems to be busy with locals, which is always a good sign.

Also worth a mention is Cafeteria Bonsay. Head out of the complex and walk up and over the hill to town and straight down the main road for only about 50 or so meters. It is up a side street on the right hand side opposite a shop called La Casa del Plastico (isn't google maps brilliant!). If you like pizzas then can highly recommend (food takes a while to come out but is worth the wait) and if I remember right about €8 for a pizza to comfortably feed 2.

Great news regarding the pool and communal areas. It was a bit of an eyesore when we were over in April.

Just hope it turns out to be true. We (along with all the other recently completed) have been waiting for the utilities being setup for ages, and I remember being told a while back that the water would be on the following week. Can't remember how long ago that was now.

Don't misunderstand us. We sincerely hope this happens. We love Arcos and want to spend many happy holidays there. It is just given recent events, seeing is believing.

Hi all,

We completed on a 2 bed in block 3 portal 8 back in November 2010. We still haven't got our utilities sorted due to 'problems' (not with us).

Is there anybody else in the same block who has encountered issues with setting up utilities ? Also does anybody in other blocks have the same issue ?
