Hi to everyone and happy new year. I am going to be in Jimena for Feb half term and was wondering if anyone knows of a local handyman who may be able to help me with putting up lights/curtains etc, preferably someone who will understand my accent! My spanish is not very good(but improving!) If anyone is going to be out there i own the ground floor flat block 1 adjacent to the swimming pool., it would be nice to share some experiences of the past year. Regards Mark/jane

Hi all i have just returned from Spain where i managed to part furnish my apartment, and sort one or two problems out. Regarding the pool i was issued a contract which included one key and six blue coloured wrist bands, this was done on my last day in jimena and all in a bit of a rush. In reading the contract it looks like the pool (when opened) will only open from 11-00am till 10-00pm, and from may to sept. Has anyone else seen or signed this contract?

Hi all i have just completed on my apartment which is block 1 ground floor on the corner next to swimming pool, i am hoping to get out to Jimena at the end of May (half term). Is there anyone who may be able to help with accommodation for that week ? if so could you post me a reply please. I too am dissapointed with a number of issues raised by yourselves and would be willing to join in with the fight for compensation.

I have been asked to post the 4 snags that i am not happy about, and i hope they may help you. 1/ The position of the window in the bathroom in relation to shower tray. ( I think there are a few of you who have also got this problem) 2/ in the main bedroom the waldobes have been put in `pissed` excuse the language but that is the only way i can describe them. 3/ in the kitchen tjhe draining unit has been positioned over the worktop! the sink will need to be moved over. 4/ because of my ground floor position i have had security grills fixed externally to all windows and a security door fixed to rear kithen/utility room. The problem is we have to open the adjacent window and slide an arm carefully down between the two doors to be able to unlock the external door! God help us if we drop the key. The only way i can see to rectify problem is to refit internal door so it opens inwards. I hope this has helped you (or not) i will continue to kick up a fuss until i hear from arenal regarding sorting out these faults.

Thanks, i still have not heard anything back from my lawyer regarding snags but i will take your comments on board. What worries me is the snags in question need a fair amount of work and going by arenals track record this might take another year!! i also have some friends in calahonda who waited 9 months for their developer to carry out the work so i am sceptical to say the least. I will wait for reply from lawyer b4 my next step, but just want to be able to finish things and enjoy.
