Just come back to look at the forum after a while to get an update on things in spain.

I didnt complete on my two units from IA on PG2 and lost 40k in the process, A year on did I make the right decision ??.

Looks like IA have gone bust, San Jose have gone bust, and bridge homes are a disaster, but there are some positive coments on the site.

For those interested I managed to get out of bahama bay and actuallly got my money back. My solicitor is still in shock...

Any news on bahama bay ???

Well its done.

Manuel has come through eventually and got me back 10% of each unit totaling 31400 euro. Im happy at this even though I have had a big loss. This coming back in instead of 150k plus all costs going out was the right decision for me.

looking at recent posts the rental situation is a complete nightmare . I am now free of all worries and can concentrate on my english porftfollio.

Unfortunatly I still have one unit at bahama bay completing in november but I am going ahead with this as it looks a better bet.

If anyone else has a bahama bay unit through IA please get in touch.

well hi everybody

As per previous posts I decided not to complete on my two top floors apartments . I posted them with an agent and here on the site and had no enquiries by the way even with a 20% discount.

Manuel the lawer is supposed to be getting me 10% of the purchase price back ( i paid 30 %) as deposit. He apparantly has a post dated check for the 10.7.07. Even though he told me in april It would take two weeks.

Has anybody else gone down this route.

Mine was definatly an investment purchase having a few properties in the uk I wanted to diversify. As an investor I went into it with my eyes open and knew the risks. I am not complaining now things have gone wrong. However what I want to do now is come out of it in the best possible way.

Theres definatly a bubble as I posted earlier however in 2004 when I bought these there was'nt and it still looked a decent bet. As Ive said anybody buying a holiday home for there own use wil be ok, and this is a definate buying opportunity for them. but not investment as Im sure there is no chance of covering rents at the moment. One post said he paid the management company £60 per quater for marketing and got 50 euro back in rent. Not brilliant.

Sounds right to me.

One thing hasnt been mentioned what would be san jose position if people started asking for discounts to complete. I suspect they might be between a rock and a hard place as well. For anybody completeing now its worth a try.

Unless I get a buyer for a 15% reduction in price to buy ( giving me an extra 5% ) my contracts Im out.

Anybody looking for an apartment for themselves would be getting a good deal and way better than from san jose agents I have spoken to regarding thier new prices.
