It was our house (2 bedroom Urbina) that was broken into on Saturday 2nd December between 7.30 and 11pm. They forced open the balcony door in the courtyard, and stole our safe, and a spare set of keys etc. Fortunately not a lot in the safe at that time. Front and back door locks now being changed, and a grill fitted to the balcony door. They also had the cheek to drink a litre of orange juice, and a bottle of water from the fridge.

Street lights OK

It's too easy to gain access to the couryards as the metal gates are more decorative than security locked. Perhaps we should be petitioning the builder to beef up security in this area, as all these breakins  must have an efect on sales of new houses.

I too am beginning to think that a roll of razor wire may be a good idea!!!

Hi Helen,

Have been to Murcia a number of times over the past 3 years, and have found that www.allinclusivecarhire.com has usually been the cheapest. Prices quoted include insurances with no excesses. The only additional expense is an optional window and tyre insurance for approx. 15euros, which most car hire companies now offer. They only use companies with desks in the airport.

Have added half a dozen pics. taken 23rd September, including one of the square in Los Alcazares. Best restaurants in the square are Bayside, La Diva, and Angelas. There are also a number of good Indian and Asiatic restaurants, coffee shops, tapas bars and an Irish pub now open in the square.

If you want a taste of England then try The Penny Farthing, or the Pasty Shack.

The new 5* hotel at the top of the square is now open and is called Hotel 525 - its fabulous, all decked out in black and red.
