Can anyone tell me if the council have to provided us with street lights. This is a much discussed and argued about subject amongst the residence of a small urbanization in Murcia.  Many believe as in the UK the tax we pay the council should cover the lighting - is this true?

We have just moved to the Murcia region ofSpain and have bought our Nissan Terrano with us.  We have got very confused about re-plating the car. What do we need to do  we have changed our headlights already)? Where do we go? Do we have to pay matriculation tax? Do we need to pay a specialist company to help as our Spainish is not very good?

HJas anyone just completed the process?

Any information would be of help?

Thanks for your reply and your good wishes.

We live in Stevenage at the moment but will be moving to Calasparra, 50 miles inland North West of Murcia in February. Although the Euro has dropped so much and we might not be able to afford the the things we wanted to buy out there we are still looking forward to the sun.

Can anyone recommend a good money transfer company? Last one we used to pay the deposit on our property was a nightmare

We are due to move in February and are very concerned about exchange rate.  We now know we should have done a forward contract.

Why don't you just use your solicitor (I asume you have one). With our solictor it was part of the service. We arrived at the police station in Cartagena with her on a Thursday and we were all finished within a half hour and recieved the NIE document in the UK 4 weeks later.
