Hi,

we heard through the grapevine about the problems with Polaris and we have heard nothing direct from them concerning the appartment we have bought at El Mirador.  We live in Switzerland and decidecd also to invest for our old age in an appart in Spain.  We used an English agent in Marbella and he indicated a good Spanish lawyer to us.  Now that things are not going ahead we have asked this lawyer to go ahead and try to recuperate our 40% plus deposit. Fortunately we found out about this just before we were due to make the second down-pament, which was a godsend.  I have received no word direct from Polasris and they did not even bother to answer my registered letter to them, sent in January.  Our lawyer says we have a good case and is fairly confident that he can get our money back.  We are keeping our fingers crossed.  Wishing good luck to one and all who have encountered the same problems.

My husband and I live in Switzerland and we started buying an appart in Condado de Alhambra last March.  We put down our deposit and we have paid the first €33'000. we are due to make another payment this month.  However, despèite having visited the site several times last year (last time in September) and seen the progress concerning the infrastructure and vilas, appart. I received a strange telephone call this week from someone evidently from Customer Servive at Polaris, indicating that they have delays. When pushed I was told that in fact they had not started the building of our apparment, which should have been ready around June 2009.  On top of this our solicitor in Spain ad our agent are not aware of this delay.  We have bought the appartment number M1230 (which we saw on the plan seems to be opposite the sports ground). We are a bit at a loss to understand what is going on and wondered if anyone can lay any light on this for us.  Any comments would be much appreciated.  We do not know if we should go ahead and make the second payment or not as we do not want to lose all our money if there is a big problem on the construction.
