Hey Hew, yes we did have a BG, but its was with SGR and had an expiration date on it. They threw everything at us bar the kitchen sink and like I said we had to draw up several different power of attorneys to get around their obstacles. Good luck with your claim.

We basically made ourselves a complete pain in the arse of the solicitors representing us - not in a nasty way - I just didnt go away and didnt accept answers like "oh it will happen soon and we will get in touch" coz thats like a piece of string.

I havent been on here in ages, but just wanted to post a note to say after years of legal wrangling, stalling and just general dicking about, we have now received a full refund into our UK bank account.

Despite thoughts to the contrary, we stuck with our original solicitors Parra & Gonzalez in Torre and they finally came good for us, not without an awful lot of pushing and cajoling from my side on a weekly basis. God bless Maria Pina who was always polite and patient despite my obvious irritation.

I wanted to say to those still waiting for money not to give up hope and to keep fighting the fight however weary you feel.

SGR threw every possible obstacle in our path and close to the end we had to get 2 further power of attorneys drawn up as the first one was contested (due to myself and lynne marrying in the interim) and the second one was "incorrectly legally worded" (?), but it would seem that in the end they knew they had nowhere to go and coughed up.

I tried my best to be polite, considering that last message I'd got before that was along the lines of

"you are on your own, every man for himself, women and children first, etc etc ...."

It was just a hello, how you doing sort of thing....but I found it a bit surprising after a year of complete radio silence.

Just wondered if I was in a unique situation or if they have surfaced and are in touch with all ex / current clients. 

And what peoples opinions are in general.
