My wife and I have recently returned to the UK after spending nearly 10 years in Spain and from what I see and hear about the objections to leaving the EU are that EU members and non EU members except the British tend to take priorities over social housing and the ability to be able to claim UK State benefits from the off, unlike the majority of EU countries where, surprise surprise, you have had to contribute to their economy before taking anything out. I for one will not vote to come out of the Eu as I feel that there are more benefits with free movement within the EU. What it needs here in the UK is for the government here to start looking at ensuring that people from the EU are able to support themselves whilst seeking and gaining employment thereby contributing to the UK economy. It makes me laugh that the UKIP want out of the EU although in the case of Farage and other UKIP MEPS they are paid very well by the EU, almost like 5th columnists of WW2. I agree with 66 that the town centres are in decline because of the high charges shops have to pay. Also the roads here in the UK are probably among the worst in the EU

 For Donlachnagar

I find electricity more expensive in Spain and proportionately fuel is cheaper in the UK, any motoring fines are disproportionate here in Spain, a friend of mine temporarily used a cardboard number plate on his trailer and was fined 500euros. I am challenging a fine I received and the fine details are not correct but I have been told that as its a typing error they will still chase the money. Some foodstuffs are cheaper in Uk if you use some of the supermarkets. The Spanish do not have a clue about  "deals" in the supermarkets or are at the beginning of using them. The government is racist and xenophobic

3 years ago, I was given a ticket for taking a friend to the airport and he gave me 50 euros, he gave me the money for other reasons not connected with taking him to the airport.I was stopped on the slip road out of the airport and the Guardia whetre not around at the time but a taxi driver pulled in behind me and saw m friend give me the money, so he must have radioed the Guardia. My fine was 1501 euros and I have been challenging it ever since, he wrote a letter explaining the reasons why he has gave me the money and this I have duly had translated and sent to Trafico, they have come back to say that the explanation given was insufficient and still want me to pay the fine. My wife is penalised for being the owner of the vehicule although I am acknowledged as neing the driver. When the fine came through, my wifes name was spelt incorrectly, my name was spelt incorrectly and the registration is also incorrect, my address, however, is correct. I have spoken to an official translator about the errors and she has said that it is a typing error and that it does not matter, I explained that European law states that a fine must be written correct for it to be valid, but this is Spain. It is now being reconsidered by another person at Trafico who feels that I have a case. In the case of the person being fined for speeding and in view of his age I would not pay the fine. I have spoken to Spanish people and I have found out that if I have to pay the fine then I must pay in one go, if I was Spanish then I could pay monthly (with interest). This is also against European law as I understand it but this racist and xenophobic government seem to do what they like.
