I don't think coming to Spain at this moment in time would be a good choice at all. The country is nearly bankrupt and severe cuts are being made in all areas, including health and education. Taxes have gone up, unemployment is rising, hundreds of people lose their homes every week , the crime rate is on the increase as people are getting desperate, etc. I could go on but it's just too depressing. So, unless you can live without the need to get a job for quite some time, I would not recommend a move to Spain, no matter how grim your life may seem in the UK. The expression that jumps to mind is that you would be jumping out of the pan into the fire. My advice would be to research other alternatives. Best of luck!

I'm looking for someone with a bit of space in their van, who will be driving through Valladolid city on their way to the Costa Blanca. I live in Alicante and I can come and meet anywhere in Valencia/Alicante/Murcia area. My mum lives in Valladolid and has a bureau-type desk that she wants to give to us as it's just sitting in her storage room. I live in Alicante but am looking to move to Benidorm. I have seen the Sierra Cortina resort and particularly like the townhouses in Golf Bahía. I would be grateful to hear opinions from other property owners who either have their first/second residence in this resort. What are the good points of this area, and are there any downsides? Do many people live here all year round, especially families? Also, if anyone is looking to sell a 3-bedroom townhouse, we may be interested.
