Thanks for the information re the pool.  You are right, when  we have all experienced being at Mirador over the winter and early Spring, we will be able to judge better if the months the pool is open should/could be extended.  Certainly when we moved in at the beginning of April it was hot.  So warm that we had to buy the kids a paddling pool to put on the roof terrace to cool them down a bit and, when they weren't looking, we were also dipping our toes!

Aternoon all from a very windy north-east Scotland,
I meant to mention this in last post, somebody earlier on this thread mentioned the pool being closed from November through to April, why ?
We were in Rojales last December and the weather was great so we used the outdoor hotel swimming pool. It was a bit chilly for some but not for others, I'm sure that when we are visiting our apartment between November and April that we would want the use of the pool, and I'm sure that many of the permanent residents would want to use it on such ocassions when the weather is hot. The cost of keeping the pool in use is negligable, I and my children  would want the use of it at anytime of the year
when we are there.

Hi all,
just downloaded a few photos to rekindle the memory of sun and blue sky everyday, which is something in short supply here in Tannadice. In case anyone is worried about one of the photos, the beers on the table do not belong to our daughters, they swopped seats with Jo & Nigel, phew !
Also if anyone wants an almost new toddler/kiddies paddling pool we have one to give away. Its about 5 foot diameter and sits well on the roof terrace. We bought it for our two daughters, well and us, back at easter time when the pool was still dry. It helped keep the girls cool and our feet too, but now there is no longer a need. Its virtually brand new, nice bright colours, just needs a bit of puff to get it into shape.
Keep the jungle drums going about any news. I cant remember the name of the restaurant at the moment but they did give us a lighter with the name on it which is at the apartment, so I will let you know in a few weeks time. I'm sure in time we will all have a dossier on where to go.

Hi all,
I have posted a photo of the Sturdy family as promised, me, Ian, Jill and our two girls, Louisa with the dark brown hair and Hannah with the blond hair. The photo was taken last October when we were on holiday.
At least you can put a face to the names, anyone else brave enough !

Hi everyone,
we have just returned from sunny, warm Spain. Everyday was clear blue skies and the temperature during the day was warm enough for the kids to go in the hotel swimming pool, although at night it did get quite chilly.

It was great for us all to see the development and our apartment again, the views are still as spectacular as the first time I saw them. There are plenty of photos for you all to mull over, the first set are of Cox, we did visit during siesta time so the
' High street ' looks pretty quiet,  but we did find a bar to have a coffee and a coke. People are very friendly, but don't expect to much English to be spoken, an investment in a phrase book and dictionary would be worthwhile.

Anyway regarding the build which seems to be moving on quite steadily, especially the row on Calle Jaboneros where we have apartment no. 36. The rendering on the outside of the build has been finished with s slight glassy finish, giving it quite a shimmering look.
Looking at the photos you will be able to envisage the finished article, the swimming pool and the pathways. There is still a lot of building material around so it looks a bit cramped, but once it is all cleared and the landscaping is finished I'm sure we will all be quite pleased.
When you look at the photos of the apartment interior you will notice that all the tiles have been layed and the kitchen cabinet carcasses have been installed. We got the feeling that all was been very well fitted, there were no grumbles at all just smiles all around.

We did plenty of measuring up, just to make sure we got the right size of furniture, and make sure you count the lights, you'll be surprised as to how many you will need, especially if you have purchased an apartment with the solarium.

I spoke to the site manager, who escorted us around, and he thinks that it maybe late March early April before we can complete, I think he was playing safe and maybe we will complete before then, we will have to wait and see.

The agent we are going through, Pure Property, made all the arrangements for us to get the NI number, which without you cannot do anything in Spain, then it was onto the Notary to give power of attorney to our solicitor, then finally to the bank to open an account. We opened an account, with the help of our solicitor with BBK who have the lowest bank charges, at the moment anyhow.

Come mid February we are hoping to visit Cox again, and take a trip to Murcia and Ikea to order our furniture. I'm sure we will see huge steps have been made at Mirador by then, and we will be taking our first sips of wine on the terrace very soon.
