Hi all,

I have just organised to get a Telefonica line installed and it relatiely in-expensive. There is a one of admin fee of 68.44€, installation is free and monthly line rental is 15.64€ (all are subject to IVA). You apply online by filling in an application form, they contact you then install the line. I had some problems communicating with them as they state its Telefonica in English, but I was never contacted by an English speaking advisor, so had to get a Spanish speaking friend to deal with it for me. All going well my line should be installed on Friday.

I have also looked into the WiFi internet package that they offer but am going to hold off at the moment, as I won't be all that frequent a user. I guess I could connect through a dial up connection if required via a modem.

Go to telefonicainenglish for all the details.

Another option is getting the Telefonica line installed then using Zefone for WiFi, check out their website for more details.

Ian.

Roads are now really good, just a shame that they don't highlight where the speed bumps are!!

I have posted some photos taken on Sunday of the abuse of the new black bins. I personally think it is a very bad idea as it doesn't matter how anti-rat the poles are when lazy residents are dumping their household waste in bin bags next to these new bins, then getting into their cars to drive off. Even worse they aren't even dumping it in the bins on their own doorsteps. Also as you will see in the photo, the bin was stuffed full of household waste that should have been disposed of in the basura. I proceeded to take the bag to the basuras beside the exit, only to find that there was also bin bags, boxes etc left lying around the chutes to the basura. Giving the weather lately this could have been blown all over the development. I know from personnel experience that it can be difficult to get waste to go down the chute but just leaving it besdie the bins is pure laziness, there are large bins down beside the golf course where this waste can be disposed of if people can't take the time to empty or tear up their waste to fit in the basuras.

I think this should be brought up at the AGM, to remove most of these black bin and to post notices around the development advising to put all household waste in the basuras and not to leave any waste on the ground around the bins as we will soon have a vermin problem on our hands.

Also I find it very bad that all the street lights on the lower road are no longer on at night, I agree that there were too many street lights in the first place but surely they could have done what has been done on the other roads where only 1 in every 4 or 5 lights. These lights seem to have been out after a storm around Christmas time.

Apart from my rants above I am thoroughly enjoying my time at DV and look forward to the summer.

Hi,

We completed on a Monday in October so I don't think the day matters, although our apartment was ready for sometime before, to complete as it was a previous off plan purchase that couldn't be completed on. We tried to get our Solicitor to get us connected for completion but our electrictiy took over 2 weeks to get connected after we got the keys, so we waited to snag until then as you get a month to submit the list. Although I have heard of people doing the snagging with no electricity on and writing on the list that "electrics weren't working". Also after we submitted our snagging list we noticed another couple of problems, so I contacted the office and they allowed us to add these to the list with no problems. They only come to do the snagging repairs on a Wednesday so not sure if you will get all done in your 4 days.

Hope all goes well for you, best f luck.

Hi all,

We have recently purchased a property in DV and was wondering if anyone knows where we can buy paint for both interior and exterior (terracotta) of the property. All the paint work is in good order at the moment but I guess that some where down the line it will need a touch up. Also anyone staying over the festive period, as we intend to??

Thanks
