I have recently inpected the site on 21st April & actually bumped into a representative of Jetoil the developer, I took this oportunity to pick his brains with regards to delays. He was very open & told me about some of the reasons:-
Firstly his company was not aware of an additional development to the rear of Manilva beach, probably due to poor comunication from the town hall. The original plan was for Manilva Beach & one other set of apartments near to the road so the mains power supply, water, sewage & drainage were therefore designed for this demand only. Aparently after waiting many months for the services to be completed Jetoil was granted permission to start building, halfway through the build the services had to be significantly upgraded for the new development, so the build plan was further delayed by many months. In addition to this, land drainage, lights & a road had to be built to accomodate the additional traffic & a pass off from the town hall. Also very long waiting time for licences & LFO, again waiting for town hall.
My apartment is in block 6 phase 3, all work completed except for taps & a couple of light switches. The power & water were being connected whilst I was there. The pools were half full for testing & the landscaping near completion. Apartment looks good, but the kitchen small with few cupboards, but apart from that & the delays I'm reasonably happy. I'll post a couple of photos.
