As a recently retired immigration officer I hope the following information helps, to travel within the EU you can travel out from the UK and return on the very day you passport expires, although this is something I would not recommend, because if your return is delayed for whatever reason, you might have problems leaving that country, as you would techniciacl be undocumented, and you could be told to go to a consulate to get a valid document.

Also technically to be in another country without a valid ID document, in the case of a Brit thats a British passport, then you could be fined or worse arrested as an un-documented alian.

With regard to the USA you passport must be valid for duration of your stay, but again for the reasons I have already given, this would not be a wise move. Australia & New Zealand have their own requirements including visas etc, so you are better of going to that countries websites.

As for returning to the UK without a valid passport, you might be asked to explain why you travelled knowing your passport has or might expire when you are out of the country, checks would be made to ensure that the passsport was in fact yours and had not been lost, stolen or counterfiet.

We have some friends who are going to be staying at our place, being not to keen to drive, has anybody got details of the local bus service, the one that goes to mojacar, I have read it on a thread, but the little grey cells are not working and can not recall the where and when.
Any help much appreciated.

We have friends who are renting our apartment in September, arriving at Almeria airport,  they will need a child seat, is it best to get one from the car hire company or does anyone know a better source.

Hi everyone.

I  think I`m becoming obsessed with the spa. I have spoken to the people who give out the awards, KM submitted the plans and it was judged on the standard set out in the group for which it was entered. At the time of the awards being issued, the developer did not have to have started work on the project, so the awards a given for what was submitted and not for what is built. Therefore the developer can change the plans or design. The judges do not attend the site, the design can be changed, and the awards people do not need be told. Also KM did not want to put anything in the awards brochure or on the website. 
I have looked on the internet and found a possible way forward, We will need to get hold of a lawyer, and get them to request that the spa gets built, according to the plans which Noreen kindly sent around to those on the Rampton 100. If KM refuse, then we can as a community lodge a Detener, this is like a comment which is lodged with the town hall and with KM, it will make it very difficult, if not impossible for KM sell the remaining plots. It can be used as a last resort.
This will cost, but if we as a community all pay, (if the community think it`s worth it)  then it should not be too much. I feel we should get this onto the agenda for the meeting and get the ball rolling as time is important.

For those not yet on the community website, I have emailed both BBVA and the Daily Mail, no response so far, but I live in hope. (not) 
I will keep digging, thought I might try the ripped off Brit bit with the Mail, (although I don`t want to upset my new neighbours in anyway) as they collaborated on the awards, it might be a good idea if others contacted them also.
