Hi all

Thought I would let you know we finally have a Euro Exchange Bureau now located in the Post Room in Los Alcazares which has long been needed for those of us that maybe just have holiday homes here.

Rate is as the existing bank rates with no commission, so really good to see that the area is waking up to not just the needs of the British people, but those from other countries as well that holiday here.

The original rumour was that community presidents were having a meeting with Taray last Wednesday evening. The fact was that this was an internal meeting of Taray personnel only to discuss the issues regarding the pool. 

Community presidents have put forward suggestions and an offer to meet with Taray to try and resolve things

Right now we have received no response to that offer, so there is no meeting yet organised.

Mis-information, mis-interpretation and chinese whispers are bad enough for those of us lucky to be here on a permanent basis, but certainly does not help allay the anger and understandable frustrations felt by those whose only means of finding out what is going on is through this forum

I am sure that, as and when things develop, your community presidents will be the first to let everyone possible know the fac ts.

I don't know who starts these rumours, but I can assure all that there is NO SUCH MEETING taking place.  There is correspondence that has gone to Taray from community presidents relating to the whole issue of the leisure centre and its costs.

Taray advised one resident today that they had indeed got - and were looking at the points being raised by us.

We have offered to meet with them to discuss the issues, but are more hopeful that common-sense will prevail.

The information from Taray will be available sometime after Wednesday of this next week - ie 13th/14th July.

They will advise all residents/owners by way of their e-mail addresses (if supplied) and will give details of the opening date of the pool and its facilities,  the times of opening - plus the pricing schedule.

As they rightly pointed out, the pool being closed is costing them more than if it were open and they are rushing to get everything finalised as quickly as possible..

Feedback can only be provided once information is given to us.

Taray had suggested a date of late March for the next meeting with the community presidents.  An e-mail was sent to them last week asking for a meeting Friday (25th March) or early next week.

So far we have received no response from them.

I'm sure that individual communities will be told of any developments as soon as that meeting has gone ahead.
