Hi there from sunny Glasgow.  Costa de la Luz for us since 2006 when we bought a plot and now occupy a lovely villa on the Neuvo Portil golf course and 10 minutes from the 10k beach to Punta Umbria.   Chosen as a Spanish resort with no strips of Brit breakfast, happy hours or karaoke etc. Following retiral we spend 3-4 months a year there now and have become familiar with the locals and enjoying the challenge of learning more Spanish. Would stay longer but alas too far to follow my beloved Celtic and Sandra our family etc.  Real Betis in Sevilla a great consolation prize though !

Long live Andalucia - we love it

Thanks for that.   Yes that seems to be the case.  You never know perhaps one day we can avoid the toll cameras in Portugal.

Hi first time user !

My wife and I have a villa in the Playa area between Punto Umbria and El Rompido - Neuvo Portil - great area with not much non Spanish influence although we are finding more Brits and Irish as we spend more time there following my business sale and recent retirement.

When we purchased the site in 2006 we were told of a new International Airport planned near Huelva and on our last visit the news was that this may happen near Cartaya (along from Carrefour if antyone knows it) before 2015.   

Does anyone have any further info on this ?

We currently fly Glasgow - Faro and drive for an hour.  A facility 15 minutes away sounds fab but do they have the Euros to spend on this ????
