about 18 months ago some friends of mine stayed in my house on roda phase one. they were there for a week and whilst there they noticed a bad smell in the down stairs toilet. they did not pay much attention at first , untill it got much worse . after a couple of days they got up one morning to find raw sewage coming back up in toilet ,baths and the shower.
they reported it to security but to no avail. so they rang a friend of mine living ing spain, she then went back to security for some assistance, once again they did not help in any way. so my friend rang for a plumber who came out within the hour. he had a look at the problem,[ which by then had got so bad the stench was unbearable] and he said that he could not do anything as the problem was with the drains in the road. so he had to get a company from murcia to come out with the industrial drain cleaners.
all of the drains leading up to the garages were totally blocked. he also said that the pipe work was not adiquate for that ammount of houses. the sewage was even seeping into the garages , which all had to be thoroughly cleened afterwards.
the bill came to 350 eurs which i had to pay. so i took the reciepts to marisol and she agreed that payment should be payed by the community and claimed back form the builders. she offered the money to me and [ wrongly i now know] i said to deduct it from my next community charge, which we did.
now apparently the president is saying that i was liable for the bill and no one else, as they did not bother to approach the builders about the problem. they are saying that i shoul pay the 350 eurs plus interest which according to them ,it has doubled.
at the time of this happening i had just buried my husband and i could have done without the hassle, but the drains needed sorting in a hurry so i payed the money in good faith, even though i can ill afford extra payments
i am not trying to get out of paying community fees because i have and always will pay my dues, but i think firstly that this problem should be looked at , and secondly i should not have to shoulder the cost of the street drains.
on the night that this was going on , my friend said that the lady from the end house near the garages came out and said that it was the same in her house and she had also reported it to security, and got no help. unfortunatly i don't know that lady, but if she reads this i hope she will get in touch.
i would be gratfull to any comments on this matter. my house adosados. regards fluff
