Hi fellow mugs

I haven't posted for a while as I had given up on this rip off.

I think I was the last mug to buy here after flying out in Sept/Oct 2004 and meeting Chris Taylor from MMI Properties, my UK Agent who would 'guide me through the purchase of my dream property from start to finish' Right! What a bunch of crooks they turned out to be. They were happy to take their commission off Huma but don't want to know now that it's gone tits up!

I had more or less written my deposit off but being a Scouser it went against the grain. I contacted my solicitor (Vera Solicitors, Vera) who suggested a Burofax as a cheap way to get my money back at only 250 Euros. OK I said, do it. After 8 weeks of emailing said solicitors I finally got a reply saying Huma had not responded and there was nothing they could do unless I wanted to start legal proceedings. More money down the Spanish drain. The Burofax was no more than a solicitor's letter for 250 Euros so beware of yet another Spanish con!!

Apart from joing ETA and blowing these Spanish crooks out of the water in their yacht we all payed for, I can't think of a way to get even, YET!

I am going to take FREE legal advice at the Citizen's Advive Centre about the possibility of suing the English crooks in this scam as they were my 'Agents, there to guide me through from start to finish with all my money guaranteed' I know you'll all laugh but I emailed MMI Properties a few days ago to ask if there was any update and guess what - no reply -  but the crooks are still in business in Beckenham, Kent advertising for more suckers to steal their money. Just ask for John if you want to lose youe savings!

Have you considered suing your English Agents here in the UK?
If they are still in business in the UK, they are liable as they were your agent.

I paid a 3000 Euro deposit through MMI Properties.
I demanded my deposit back last year and was offered it in full, but like a fool I was persuaded to give it another 6 months!

I will be contacting them soon to get my deposit back.
I'll let you know how I get on

Hi Robski

I have been advised the best 1st step is to demand it back from your UK agent.

As they are your agent they are legally responsible IN THE UK and you can sue them IN THE UK AND WIN!!

I just did this (1 Oct) and they have offered it back but advised building will start before end of Oct!

Good Luck

Hola

I sent an email to MMI Properties Monday 1 Oct morning demanding my deposit back and guess what!

I got a response within hours for the first time in months!!

They are now telling me work will start in 2 weeks but I can have my deposit back if I want.

I can't get out there until the end of Oct anyway but I've seen appartments with a lot more for the money in the area.

I'll now go out there and have a good look before making my final decision.

Has anyone had a look at 'Lomas de Cuevas?' 2 bed 2 bath A/C preinstall, white goods 67-71sqm 121,000-127,000 Euros

Either in or very close to Cuevas de Almanzora

Or residencial Norias Blancas just outside Vera

2 bed 2 bath A/C preinstall, white goods 66 sqm 110,000-125,000 Euros

Hi

Well I've had enough of the silent treatment from MMI Properties and have decided today to pull out and get my deposit back!

Nobody seems to be posting on here any more but thought I'd let those still reading it know

Hasta luego
